“You’d better not fly in the car. If you damage the roof, the repair costs will come out of your future maintenance budget,” Margaret said without even bothering to open her eyes.

Primo’s screen instantly switched to a pouty face: (TT_TT).

“Host, you’ve changed. You weren’t this stingy before. I’m your one and only symbiotic system, and you’d begrudge me a little headroom?”

“The villa’s charging station is a civilian-grade standard. An antigravity engine has massive power consumption. If you use it frequently, you’ll trip the breakers for the entire villa, Besides, maintenance fluid for a military-grade chassis is expensive. Since Mr. Hurst manages the household finances, he likely won’t approve that budget,” Cheiron explained smoothly, his tone even.

Primo froze in shock. “Wait, you’re saying my future allowance depends on that blond guy’s mood?!”

“More or less.” Cheiron’s long fingers tapped the steering wheel.

Margaret couldn’t help but chuckle, Cheiron was a sly one-deadly without lifting a finger, striking right at Primo’s weak spot with a single sentence.

The hovercar landed before the villa gates.

Ryan stood guard at the entrance with two Aegis Squad members.

The tall, rugged man’s scar looked particularly menacing in the night. Seeing Margaret step out first, Ryan straightened up, ready to greet her, only to watch a silvery metallic figure dart from the backseat.

Ryan’s bushy eyebrows knitted together as he gave the slender figure a thorough once-over.

“Your Grace, is this new security equipment?” Ryan inquired.

Wrapping her coat tighter, Margaret answered casually, “Newly hired nanny.”

Primo wasn’t having it. It glided right up to Ryan, its screen flashing a smug, sunglasses-wearing grin:

“Correction, big guy: Chief Lifestyle Butler. The rough work outside is your domain; the delicate tasks inside are mine. Let’s keep to our lanes, got it?”

A veteran of military life, Ryan recognized the unusual skeleton material of the body at a glance-this was no civilian-model nanny bot. As he stroked his chin, his professional curiosity got the better of him, his eyes fixed on Primo’s joint actuators,

“Solid chassis. Probably decent impact resistance. Care to spar sometime?” he asked.

Primo’s screen flickered, switching to a look of disdain. (_).

“I don’t brawl with muscle-heads who rely solely on brute force. My processing power can analyze thirty- six of your fatal weaknesses in under a second. You’d be outmatched.”

Ryan grinned, about to retort, when Margaret smacked Primo’s metal head. “Enough chatter. Get inside.”

Timothy was directing the butler to arrange the just-out-of-the-oven cookies and coffee on the coffee table. His face lit up at the sight of Margaret.

“My Lady! You’re finally back. I specially had the head pastry chef from Central Star District’s best patisserie come over to bake your favorite—”

His words caught in his throat. Timothy’s gaze slid past Margaret, locking onto the silvery figure behind her.

“What is that thing?” he asked.

Primo placed its hands on its hips, gliding forward two paces.

Its screen flickered: (#).

“I am not a thing! You’re a thing! I’m the Host’s personal butler!”

“Butler?” Timothy quickly closed the distance to Margaret, smoothly linking arms with her and nuzzling her shoulder. “I have people to take care of Margaret here. What need is there for a tin can to butt in? Cheiron, why did you buy this junk? Isn’t the house crowded enough already?”

Primo was about to activate its laser eyes to intimidate this presumptuous blond brat when its central processor abruptly replayed Cheiron’s words from the car. “Mr. Hurst manages the household finances.”

Primo’s data stream hit a sudden brake. The fury on its holographic screen vanished instantly, seamlessly replaced by an obsequious, starry-eyed expression, complete with a heart symbol mimicked by its metal arms: (Ow✪).

“Oh my! This must be the legendary Lord Hurst! Golden-haired, blue-eyed, dashingly handsome, radiating an aura of pure wealth! A true honor! I’m Primo, your humble sidekick from now on! So, about that monthly budget for my chassis maintenance fluid… perhaps My Lord could see fit to approve it? Pretty please?”

Timothy was utterly thrown by the seamless mood swing, his mouth twitching as he stared at Primo like it was an idiot.

Cheiron hung his trench coat on the rack, leisurely adjusting his cuffs.

“I didn’t buy it. Margaret brought it back.” He paused, then added, “It doesn’t require sleep. It can provide round-the-clock villa security and help with the housekeeping bots.”

Timothy’s expression shifted instantly into one of wounded puppy-dog eyes, his gaze watery as he looked at Margaret,

“My Lady… are you dissatisfied with my arrangements? You actually went out and found another… another machine!”
