The stack of documents in Old Man Chen’s hands wasn’t very thick, and he finished looking through them in a short while.
"Why is there only preliminary data here? Where’s the rest?" Old Man Chen asked, looking at Su Chen with a tense expression, afraid this was all he had.
Su Chen, however, remained perfectly composed, sipping his tea without responding to Old Man Chen’s question.
This sent Old Man Chen into a panic. Although the preliminary data alone was enough to keep him occupied for some time, without the rest of it, he had no idea how long it would take him to figure everything out.
Su Chen set down his teacup and said calmly, "Don’t worry, I have all the follow-up data. But you know how important this is. If anything goes wrong, you’ll all be treated as criminals!"
Old Man Chen’s expression froze. He understood the meaning behind Su Chen’s words and nodded. "I understand. I’ll come find you after I’ve finished the preliminary experiments!"
Old Man Chen, much like Professor Wu, was a man of swift and decisive action. Seeing that Su Chen had nothing else for him, he said a quick farewell and hastily departed.
"Sir~"
Only after Old Man Chen had left did Chen Fei and Xiao Peng push the door open and enter.
Su Chen pointed to the chairs nearby, motioning for the two of them to sit. He had something to discuss with them.
Chen Fei and Xiao Peng sat bolt upright, looking serious. They knew that with the arrival of Professor Wu and Old Man Chen, their relaxing days were over.
"How are the security measures at the industrial park and research base coming along?" Su Chen asked, pulling a white pack of cigarettes from his pocket and offering one to each man.
Upon seeing this, both of them grinned from ear to ear.
Chen Fei lit up, took a couple of drags, and then answered, "We’ve implemented a two-tiered security system at the park and the research base to prevent any leaks of important information. Coverage is now complete, and all the associated security personnel are on duty!"
Su Chen had already considered the research base’s future network security. He had even made a new copy of the firewall program he’d written himself, since Xiao Chen had taken the original.
"Good. You two need to be extra vigilant about this; things aren’t like they were before. Also, I want you to screen and select a few security officers to act as bodyguards for Professor Wu and his team. I want them shadowed the moment they step outside the institute—I mean not leaving their side for an instant!"
