Chapter 45 Backfire
Chapter 45 Backfire
No joke. You hit Cassian’s hard line, and once that happened, no one could talk their way out

“Hey, hey, hey. You’re really just going to stand there and watch me get killed. Ah!” Josh was too busy yelling for help to notice the punch coming straight at him. It landed hard.
Wesley sprawled by the doorway, smiling like he was enjoying the show. “Josh, I’ll pick out your gravestone. Think about what you want carved on it. Crawl out later and tell me.”
Josh went speechless. Damn it.A bunch of absolute animals. This is brutal.
That night, around nine, Seraphina drove home. Her parents were in the living room, having coffee and reading when the staff mentioned she had returned.
They immediately got up, pulled her over to the couch, and started chatting. Then they dropped it on her.
Tomorrow morning at ten, she was going on a blind date. Location, Dreamwing Café. Room, 302.
Seraphina froze. A blind date. At her age. Was this really happening?
Celestine kept pressing, soft but relentless. In the end, Seraphina gave in. Fine. She would just show up and go through the motions.
Once Seraphina agreed, Celestine went straight to Viola’s room and knocked. Tomorrow morning, a blind date. Dreamwing Café. Room 303.
Viola’s chest tightened. She asked quietly, “Cassian is going too, right?”
Celestine hated saying it, but she could not keep letting the girl get hurt. “His room is 301.”
She stepped forward and hugged Viola. “You’re grown now. It’s time to start dating. It doesn’t have to mean marriage, but you need experience. You won’t know what you want until you’ve dated a few people.”
And Cassian was already twenty eight, still single, still completely unconcerned.
As his mother, she decided to go all in.
She spent five million to become a top tier VIP at the largest matchmaking agency in Valedawn.
Following her criteria, from genetics to appearance, from family background to character, the agency selected the top three candidates.
With that final move, Cassian had no choice but to agree.
When Viola found out, she could not sit still. She paced her room, nerves stretched thin.
If Cassian met someone and it clicked, she would lose her chance completely.
Just as she ran out of ideas, Ramona checked the hallway, slipped inside, and quietly handed her a contact number.

Chapter 45 Backfire
It was the matchmaking manager’s number.
Earlier, while Celestine was on the phone with the agency in the living room. Ramona happened to pass by. She hid behind a pillar, listened carefully, and memorized the number written on the note on the coffee table.
Viola whispered, “Ramona, do you have a way out of this?”
“Call the manager,” Ramona said. “Move your blind date to eight in the morning.”
Viola frowned. “And then?”
Ramona smiled, leaned in close, and laid out her plan step by step.
Viola stared at her, stunned, then raised her thumb. “Ramona, you’re amazing.”
Viola made up an excuse and convinced the manager to move her blind date to eight a.m.
The next morning, she left early and arrived at Dreamwing Café at seven fifty. On the third floor, she noticed someone already waiting in room 303. Her blind date.
She walked over quietly, removed the room number plate, swapped it with the one from 301, then stepped aside.
About eight minutes later, a woman in a white off-shoulder dress walked onto the third floor.
Her features were delicate, her long black hair falling straight down her back.
So this was the type Celestine had picked for Cassian. Soft and gentle.
