Chapter 636 Friends Night Out
Elsie’s sincere, unfiltered compliment clearly went down well with Melissa.
She picked up her bowl of broth and murmured under her breath, “Of course. A mother knows her son best. A man like him deserves someone truly remarkable, not someone ordinary, like Evelyn.”
Melissa was already quietly turning over plans in her head.
She’d need to create more opportunities for Raymond and Elsie to run into each other.
But honestly, she was worrying over nothing.
Because on Raymond’s end, Evelyn hardly even crossed his mind.
Ever since they exchanged numbers at the coffee shop, Evelyn’s texts had been coming in nonstop–one after another, like she was trying to fill his inbox.
Dozens of messages piled up, but Raymond’s replies were short and far between. If you scrolled through their chat history, it was pretty much just his side of the conversation, “Okay“, “Got it“, or the classic “Busy“.
To him, dealing with Evelyn was way less interesting than trading sharp remarks with Claudia.
That afternoon, a long executive meeting finally wrapped up.
Raymond had just stepped back into his office when Riley followed him in.
“So,” she said, her eyes bright with curiosity, “how’d the blind date go?”
Raymond gave a noncommittal shrug. “It was fine.”
“Just fine?” Riley raised an eyebrow, a little surprised.
Knowing her brother’s standards, “fine” from him was actually a pretty decent review.
She studied him for a moment, wondering if maybe there was something promising here after all.
Before long, it was time to clock out.
Sebastian came by Harper Group to pick Riley up.
They drove over to the restaurant where they’d made reservations earlier.
Justin was hosting dinner that night.
When they walked into the private dining area, Colin had Audrey wrapped in his arms, totally unbothered by anyone watching–he was even holding a mini dessert, trying to feed it to her.
And Audrey, while pretending to push him away, couldn’t hide the smile on her face.
Riley walked uver and grinned. “Wow, what’d I mis😕 Some big news broke while I was gone?”

But Colin wasn’t fazed at all. If anything, he wanted to stir the pot even more. Right in front of everyone, he leaned over and planted a loud, playful kiss on Audrey’s blushing cheek.
