"There's no particular reason," Vance replied.
"No way! You have to make it clear," Jethro insisted.
Vance sighed. "Fine. She won't allow it."
"She... Who?" Jethro was even more confused. "Who doesn't allow you to hang out with them?"
"Here she comes," another voice chimed in.
Darren placed his tray on the table, his words giving away Rebecca and Jenny.
Vance looked up and paused, his gaze dropping from Rebecca's tray to her wrist. She was still wearing the bracelet.
Vance smiled with satisfaction. "Jethro's done eating. You guys can sit here."
Jethro blinked, looking down at the large pile of food on his plate. Under Vance's firm stare, he reluctantly picked up his tray. "Darren, do you know who he is talking about?"
Vance, Darren, and Rebecca all stayed silent. Jethro brushed it off and walked away, still chewing on his food.
Jenny sat down, equally curious. Before she could ask, Vance spoke first. "Eat your food. We're having a quiz later."
"When will this endless stream of tests ever end?" Jenny groaned.
"Never," Darren chimed in.
"Go away," Jenny grumbled.
The most excited person in Rebecca's dorm was a girl named Dina Rollins. But another roommate pointed out. "Private bathrooms? Brand-new four-person rooms? Two-person rooms for seniors? Renovations on the old dorms? So what? We'll have graduated by the time they're finished."
Dina instantly deflated. "Yeah... I thought we'd finally get private bathrooms. How could I forget we're about to graduate?"
Another girl chimed in, "Anyway, we've survived this long. Graduation's right around the corner."
The others also made their comments.
Dina glanced at Rebecca and sighed. "But we still can't let our guard down. Who knows if someone might grab you by the hair and beat you up in the big shower room?"
Rebecca frowned, remembering that Dina was close to Catherine. That comment was clearly aimed at her.
She was about to respond when her phone rang. She glanced at the caller ID and immediately lit up. It was Gabriel.
