Carson told Summer that everything came complimentary with the rental.
Looking at the massive cooler filled with high-end seafood and other expensive ingredients, Summer pulled Marina aside and whispered, "You didn't buy all this, did you? The seafood alone costs more than the rental fee. The owner isn't stupid!"
Marina chuckled. "It's just their policy. Everyone who rents the place for a party gets this."
Summer figured that since they got a huge discount thanks to Carson's connections, it made sense that the owner would throw in these perks based on the original full price.
She felt a little embarrassed. "I invited everyone this time to thank you and Mr. Foster, but now I feel like I owe you another favor."
Marina's expression was open and breezy. "What favor? When we get together, everyone chips in. We're all friends. There's no need to keep score."
Summer hesitated before asking, "Are you and Mr. Foster really together?"
Marina paused for a moment, then nodded. "I guess so!"
Summer looked deeply worried. "Then what about the engagement your family arranged for you? I can tell Mr. Foster really cares about you. Why don't you talk to your family, cancel the engagement, and be with him?"
Marina lowered her eyes, trying hard to hold back a smile. She wasn't sure if she should tell Summer the truth right now.
Seeing her stay silent, Summer assumed Marina was dealing with unspeakable family drama. Just as she was about to comfort her, Trixie and Colby arrived.
"Thank you!" Summer took the items they brought. "Honestly, I still don't know which righteous hero helped me get my revenge!"
Standing by the bar, Marina glanced at Carson, who was inside the open kitchen helping prep the ingredients. She shot him a look and mouthed silently, "Righteous hero!"
Knowing she was teasing him, Carson reached over and popped a piece of fruit into her mouth, smiling faintly. "I made the salad dressing. How does it taste?"
Marina's eyes lit up. Since her mouth was full, she simply gave him a thumbs-up.
Colby immediately headed for the kitchen. "I'll wash them. My Trixie has someone who likes her too!"
Trixie lifted her chin with a hint of pride. "That's right!"
Colby turned to Summer. "Summer, what do you want? I'll wash it all together!"
"Anything is fine," Summer replied. "Trixie and I have similar tastes!"
Trixie wandered around the villa, marveling at the elegant, high-end decor in the living room and the expensive antique collections on display. "This place is incredible!"
She touched a piece of porcelain on a mahogany shelf. "Is this real? Isn't the owner worried it'll get stolen?"
After all, anyone could rent this place. Even if it wasn't stolen, breaking it would be a massive loss!
