Brandon stared at the boy, utterly speechless.
What the hell was going through his head?
Was Noah actually excited about this?
Was he thrilled that Bella had married his father and become his legal stepmother?
At that moment, Brandon felt a profound wave of pity for his sister. Nine months of painful pregnancy and agonizing labor, all for nothing.
Giving birth to a literal rock would have been better than raising this ungrateful little sociopath.
Taking a slow breath, Brandon said, "Noah, did you not hear me? Your father is actively divorcing her. She is not your mother.
"You only have one mother in this world, and her name is Lillian Mercer."
Noah slid off his chair, refusing to eat another bite. He crossed his arms defensively. "I won't let Dad divorce her! I don't want a murderer for a mom! Auntie Bella is a social elite. She's smart and successful. It's much better if she's my mom.
"If she's my mom, the kids at school won't make fun of me!"
Sabrina kept her head down, desperately trying to hide her triumphant smirk. She absolutely adored this kid.
He was practically a weapon dropped right into her lap, perfectly designed to inflict maximum emotional damage on the Mercer men.
Her chest swelled with vindictive satisfaction. It felt amazing!
Seeing Noah turn toward the stairs, Martin quickly got up, scooped the boy into his arms, and placed him firmly back in his chair.
"Noah, you don't understand how incredible your mother is," Martin said in his most persuasive tone. "If you tell the kids at school that your mom is Lillian Mercer, the CEO of Lillionix, they won't laugh. They'll be insanely jealous of you."
Noah scoffed, rolling his eyes. "Don't lie for her. I'm never going to like her! I hate that she's my mom. She's a total failure. She's a murderer who went to prison!"
Brandon was about to snap again, but Martin's words gave him an epiphany.
