Family on Their Knees Heart Turned to Ice novel Chapter 1295

"Whether I'm the one watching him or you are, the result is the same, isn't it?

If I'm not staying at the house, it gives them the perfect excuse to placate Sebastian. It works out perfectly.

Besides, I'm not the least bit worried that Noah will magically become the bridge to repair their relationship with Lillian."

Sabrina thought it over and nodded. "That makes sense. Just make sure you stay safe out there."

"Don't worry, I'm not a child."

Tomorrow was going to be chaotic anyway. Staying away from the estate gave her the perfect alibi, ensuring Sebastian wouldn't trace any of the upcoming fallout back to her.

As for Noah moving into the Mercer estate, Bella was almost certain Sebastian would agree to it.

Noah had already been exposed to the grisly sight of the severed limb at home today. It was a glaring oversight on Sebastian's part; his mind was clearly preoccupied.

With everything escalating, Sebastian simply wouldn't have the bandwidth to watch the boy for the next few days. He'd need a safe place to stash him away from the chaos, and the Mercer family was the most logical choice.

If he left Noah with Old Mr. and Mrs. Blake, they would undoubtedly use the opportunity to snatch the child and secretly ship him overseas, cutting Sebastian out of the picture entirely.

With their strategy locked in, Sabrina finally went to bed.

Bella, however, couldn't sleep. Later that night, she initiated a secure video call with Lucas.

Lucas had managed to borrow a discrete vehicle. He had already smuggled out the ruined hotel carpet and the blood-soaked clothes Bella had left behind.

Through the screen, Bella watched as Lucas drove to Crestview Lakeside Park—a desolate, unfinished construction zone near the water. He found a rusted oil drum and dumped the evidence inside.

"Bella, I'm lighting it up right now," Lucas's voice crackled through the speaker. "You can relax. I'll hang up and finish the job."

Bella had clearly seen her ruined clothes tossed into the barrel. The carpet was bulky, and Lucas couldn't maneuver it efficiently with one hand holding the phone.
