To Bella, Debbie was no better than an animal. The medicine wasn't poison; it wasn't going to kill her.
The moment the needle went in, Debbie opened her mouth to scream in pain, but Bella immediately clamped a hand over it.
"Make one more sound, and I promise you'll regret it."
Debbie wasn't scared of much, but Bella was completely out of her mind right now. If this lunatic actually snapped and killed her, no one would ever know.
With the injection done, Bella turned her attention back to the severed digits.
Lucas noticed her hesitation.
"Miss Ward, what do you want to do with those? We can't just throw them away.
If someone finds them and calls the cops, they'll trace them back to her.
They might even think it's a murder case."
"Cut the crap," Bella snapped. "If you have an idea, just say it."
Lucas knew all about Debbie's massive debts at The Grand Sapphire Casino.
He also knew about the money Debbie owed Bella.
More importantly, neither of these women had a dime to their name—but Sebastian Blake did.
For once, Lucas's brain was working.
"Miss Ward, are you thinking of using those to extort money from the CEO of the Blake Group?
If you are, I know a way to get them to him.
I have a buddy who left our line of work to become a delivery driver.
If you pay him a little, we can box this up and have him slip it in with the regular mail. No one would ever know. What do you think?"
