The years she and Bella had spent manipulating Noah's mind were finally paying off!
—
At the suburban villa.
Sebastian's heart swelled with anticipation. He was banking on this exact moment—using his son's minor illness to awaken Lillian's dormant maternal instincts.
Lillian had been nothing but cold toward the boy recently.
But Sebastian refused to believe she was entirely indifferent. He couldn't accept that she genuinely didn't care about her own flesh and blood.
He remembered how she used to be. He had watched her drop absolutely everything just to sit by Noah's bedside and care for him.
The fact that she had agreed to come today proved his theory. Lillian was a woman, and a mother; she couldn't just abandon the son she had once loved so fiercely.
And if she couldn't let go of their son, could she really let go of him?
Of course she couldn't.
If those feelings were still buried inside her, then anything was possible.
Remarrying wouldn't even be that difficult. The door was still open.
These hopeful thoughts raced through Sebastian's mind as he guided Lillian into Noah's room. He was practically buzzing with excitement.
For days, he had used every tactic imaginable—from stern discipline to gentle persuasion—coaxing Noah to rebuild his bond with his mother.
He had spent a lifetime preparing for this battle, and now it was time to deploy his ultimate weapon.
As Lillian stepped into the bedroom, Noah's gaze instantly locked onto her.
His little face was flushed crimson with pent-up fury.
Oblivious to the tension, Sebastian continued his gentle prompting. "Noah, Mom is here. She heard you were sick and dropped all her work just to come see you.
"Mom loves you more than anyone in the world. Haven't you been telling me how much you miss her?"
Sebastian practically handed the boy his lines on a silver platter.
"Get out! Tell her to get out! She's not my mom!
"I don't have a murderer for a mother! I don't want a murderer!
"I hate her! I don't want to look at her!
"I want Auntie Bella! I want Auntie Bella to be my mom!"
Screaming at the top of his lungs, Noah violently kicked out, knocking Dr. Harrison's medical kit right off the bed.
The doctor stared in shock, barely jumping back in time to avoid the flying IV drip.
"Young Master, please hold still! You still have the IV in!" the doctor pleaded.
The attempt to calm him only poured gasoline on the fire.
"I don't want to see this murderer! She's not even worth Auntie Bella's little toe! I want Auntie Bella! I want Auntie Bella..."
