"Why don't I go with you?" Leonard offered smoothly.
Hearing that, Sebastian's expression instantly darkened.
*He wants to go with her?*
Who the hell did this guy think he was? What right did he have to go see Noah? Did he seriously think he was the boy's stepfather already?
But since Lillian hadn't given her final answer yet, Sebastian was forced to swallow his rage.
He was in no position of power here. One wrong word could ruin everything.
So, he kept his mouth shut.
Lillian turned to Leonard and nodded. "Alright."
Sebastian let out a quiet breath of relief at her agreement, but quickly shot Leonard a venomous glare.
If Lillian had gone alone, he could have found an opportunity to speak with her in private after they saw Noah.
There was so much he needed to say to her. But every single time, this infuriating roadblock was hovering right beside her.
Not only did Leonard monopolize her attention, but he also constantly derailed Sebastian's plans.
He wanted nothing more than to wipe that smug look off Leonard's face permanently.
But knowing Leonard's background, Sebastian reluctantly let the violent thought go.
He knew that if Leonard was serious about Lillian, he would be a terrifyingly formidable rival.
Still, Sebastian wasn't entirely hopeless.
His background check had revealed that Leonard Prescott was chronically ill.
The man's physical health was allegedly terrible.
For all he knew, Leonard could drop dead any day now.
As soon as Lillian and Leonard followed Sebastian up the stairs, they heard Noah's piercing shrieks.
Intermixed with the wailing were several sharp curses.
A child from a prestigious family using such foul language made Lillian frown in immediate disapproval.
It was painfully obvious Sebastian had no idea his precious son possessed such a toxic vocabulary. He nervously checked Lillian's expression, terrified this was docking even more points from her assessment of the boy.
Reaching the bedroom door, Sebastian raised his voice immediately. "Noah, if you're sick, let the doctor examine you and cooperate.
"Stop throwing a tantrum! And who taught you those words? I never want to hear you say them again!"
Hearing his father's booming voice, Noah instantly quieted down.
Sebastian felt a wave of relief.
Seizing the moment, he softened his tone. "Noah, look who's here. Mom heard you were sick and dropped everything at work just to come see you."
