Lillian had only scratched the surface of Sabrina's bottomless greed, not that she cared to dig any deeper.
A few hours later, Sabrina was still wailing about being in excruciating pain, even though the visible cuts and bruises on her face and body had miraculously vanished into thin air.
"Martin, please, you have to take me to the hospital," Sabrina sobbed, clutching his arm. "Everything hurts! Every single bone in my body is throbbing. Is my face completely ruined?
Please, for the sake of our marriage, get me out of here and get me a doctor. I can't die in this place!
If I have to die, at least let me die in our own bed. I'm terrified."
Sabrina babbled on, but Martin only felt a distinct twitch in his jaw.
While Sabrina had no idea she had been injected with a dose of cutting-edge bio-tech, Martin was fully aware of exactly what had transpired.
Ethan had openly stated that the vial of Phoenix-7 Recovery Serum was worth more than a human life. And Martin had watched its miraculous effects unfold right before his eyes within thirty minutes.
If he hadn't seen the severe, purplish swelling on Sabrina's face literally melt away, he never would have believed it.
But seeing was believing.
Now, several hours had passed. Sabrina's skin was completely flawless. The serum's miraculous healing properties were undeniable.
Yet, here she was, still howling in agony and throwing a massive, theatrical tantrum.
Brandon and Colin already thought she was faking it, and now, even Martin was convinced she was putting on a pathetic show.
At this point, Martin couldn't even force a sympathetic tear, let alone offer any words of comfort.
Being held hostage in the villa had already stretched his temper to the breaking point.
Adding Sabrina's relentless, ear-piercing whining to the mix eradicated whatever little patience he had left.
Brandon shot his father a sideways glance. "Dad, we don't have any pressing emergencies. What are you in such a hurry for?"
How could Martin not be in a hurry?
Given the circumstances, he'd be insane not to be stressed. He felt like he was suffocating in this house.
Stuck in enemy territory, he couldn't even safely strategize with his sons on how to handle the fallout. All he wanted was to get his damn phone back and get the hell out of there.
But more than anything, he was absolutely desperate to launch a full background investigation into Leonard Prescott.
The man didn't seem to have any roots in Northwyn, and he definitely wasn't one of the elite second or third-generation heirs from the capital's aristocratic circle. So where the hell did he come from?
Was he an outsider? Was he from Midvale?
The Lancaster family in Midvale was known for being fiercely aggressive and deeply entrenched in the underworld. Was Leonard connected to them? Was that why he radiated such overwhelming, predatory dominance?
