Family on Their Knees Heart Turned to Ice novel Chapter 1172

Beatrice let out a sigh of relief when she received the address.

The Winthrop family wasn't what it used to be. Returning to Northwyn after more than a decade abroad, they realized the domestic economy had skyrocketed, far exceeding their expectations.

They were all surprised by how incredibly successful Lillian had become.

In the past, Lillian had been the most overlooked child in the Mercer family. Though fiercely protected by her grandmother, she hadn't been groomed for the corporate world like her two older brothers.

Yet, against all odds, she was the one who had made a name for herself.

She had built her own empire at such a young age.

Having an heir like that was something anyone would envy.

"The time and place are set," Beatrice announced. "Tristan, get ready. Lillian will undoubtedly bring up the factory.

This is a rare opportunity that most people would kill for. Do not squander it.

Once we secure the factory contract, everything else will fall into place smoothly."

Tristan nodded curtly. "I know, Grandma."

Miles strolled into the room just in time to catch the end of the conversation, idly spinning his phone in his hand. "Grandma, your favoritism is showing. Are you really going to a nice dinner and leaving me behind?

I'm deeply hurt."

Tristan shot him a sideways glance but remained silent.

Beatrice sighed. "You're always causing trouble. If I take you, you'll just pull some stunt I'll have to clean up."

Miles clutched his chest dramatically. "That wounds me! I'm not that immature. I just want a free meal.

But he was affectionate.

As people aged, they often preferred the company of a sweet-talking child over a busy, successful one.

Miles was a master at charming people, always keeping her in high spirits.

She hadn't planned on bringing him, but she couldn't resist his charm.

Tristan had fully expected this outcome. Without a word of complaint, he went back to preparing his pitch.

Down in the living room, Beatrice basked in the warmth of family time.

With Miles around, her cheerful laughter echoed constantly. Tristan knew he couldn't provide that kind of comfort, so he often turned a blind eye to her favoritism.

If his brother could make their grandmother happy where he couldn't, so be it.
