Family on Their Knees Heart Turned to Ice novel Chapter 1115

"Is my fiancée upset about this?" Leonard asked, a teasing glint in his eye.

"I'm not upset," Lillian replied smoothly. "But this was a massive step, and you didn't give me the slightest heads-up. I was completely unprepared when your parents handed over such monumental gifts. I felt guilty accepting them so easily."

Leonard stepped closer, wrapping his arms around her waist in a possessive embrace. "What is there to feel guilty about? You're wearing our family heirloom and holding a massive stake in the Prescott family. You're locked in now. You couldn't run away even if you tried."

"I never planned on running," Lillian smiled, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "Actually, I've been spending the last few days trying to figure out exactly how to tie you down so you couldn't escape. But it seems you've saved me the trouble. Given the current situation, you're the one who should be worried about whether I'll run."

She slid her arms around his neck, flashing him a triumphant, predatory smile—looking every bit like a mob boss claiming her favorite prize.

Mesmerized by her radiant smile, Leonard abandoned all restraint and crushed his lips against hers.

A moment later, a loud gasp broke the silence.

"Oh, my god..."

Ethan Hayes stood frozen in the hallway, having just returned from escorting the parents out. "With all due respect, Boss, Ma'am... are you two even trying to be discreet anymore? Or do you just not consider me a human being?"

Lillian pulled back, unable to hold in her laughter. She looked at Ethan and quipped, "Whichever you prefer!"

With a soft laugh, she turned and darted up the stairs.

Ethan stood there, utterly bewildered, and looked to his boss. Leonard was casually wiping a smudge of lipstick from his mouth.

"Whether you're human or not is up to you," Leonard drawled. "If it's that unbearable, go find yourself a girlfriend. You're not getting any younger. If you stay single and keep watching us, I'm worried you're going to give yourself an ulcer out of sheer jealousy."

"Keep it on. Just wear it."

Lillian looked up at him. "It's too precious. I'll take it out for important occasions. It's a family heirloom; it needs to be passed down to the next generation. I'd hate to accidentally scratch it."

Leonard chuckled dismissively. "If you scratch it, we'll get it polished and pass it down anyway. I highly doubt our kids would have the nerve to complain. And if it shatters completely, we'll just buy something equally magnificent and pass that down instead. As long as we keep our mouths shut, how would our descendants ever know which generation started the tradition?"

Lillian burst into laughter at his sheer audacity.

Honestly, she loved the bangle. Since Leonard was so insistent, she decided to leave it on for now and take it off later.

He was visibly thrilled today, and she had no intention of ruining his mood.
