Family on Their Knees Heart Turned to Ice novel Chapter 1086

Martin stood there, completely dumbfounded.

He couldn't believe she was blatantly refusing to hand over the shares.

He had assumed that if he compromised, she would meet him halfway. He thought she would at least return Lillian's original shares so he would have something to appease his daughter with.

He never expected her to completely shut him down.

This was a massive problem.

"Sabrina, this... Lillian's shares, those were originally—"

"Originally what? They were a guarantee and a reward you gave me when I got pregnant!" Sabrina shrieked. "Have you forgotten, Martin? I carried your child! The doctors even said it was a boy! If my son had lived, would any of you dare treat me like this?"

"Yes, I hurt Lillian, but I lost my child because of her! Even if she didn't push me with her own hands, if she hadn't been there arguing with me, would I have had that accident? Would I have lost the baby in my stomach?"

"My poor baby... he never even got the chance to see the world before he was taken from me..."

Sabrina collapsed into sobs, wailing dramatically.

Martin was entirely out of his depth. He was completely overwhelmed, his head throbbing as he found himself completely incapable of refuting her twisted logic.

What kind of karmic retribution was this?

"I... I have things to handle at the company. I have to go."

He had originally hoped that by coaxing his wife, they could share a tender moment. It had been days since they had last been intimate.

But now, Martin was completely repulsed by the idea.

He practically fled the room, dreading how long this nightmare would drag on.

It was glaringly obvious that his sons were dead set on forcing her to surrender the shares. And Sabrina was equally ironclad in her refusal.

"I never thought the old man was a spineless pushover before, but now he's reached an unbelievable level of shamelessness. I've never seen anything like it. He literally just laid down the law, but five minutes alone in the room with that woman and he's calling to ask if a public apology will suffice."

"Why doesn't he ask if throwing that bitch in a cell for a few years to experience the exact same hell Lillian went through would suffice?"

Staring at the disconnected call on his screen, Martin knew he was entirely out of options.

There was absolutely nothing he could do.

Everyone in the family had their own ironclad agenda. What was he supposed to do?

Defeated, he called the house and instructed Martha to pack some clothes and have them sent to the office. He planned to stay away for the next few days.

If this had happened in the past, Sabrina would have panicked and done everything in her power to beg him to stay.

But today, when she heard the maid come in to pack his things, she simply rolled her eyes and acted like it didn't concern her in the slightest.
