Chapter 682 Liam’s Perfect Innocent Facade
Tatiana shook her head, “No, not yet. There’s one thing we missed.”
“What?”
“Liam.”
She stared at his photo.
“All along, he’s stayed completely clean.”
Foster didn’t catch on at first, “What do you mean?”
“Once we submit all this evidence, Jack will pay. But Liam… he’s too spotless.”
Tatiana’s face was grim.
She realized she’d overlooked something critical.
She’d always seen Liam as a stepping stone to Jack-a way to take Jack down legally.
She’d run around, done so much, gathered so many people, cast a wide net.
Everything was going as planned.
Too smoothly.
The evidence they had was enough to take down ten Jacks.
Plenty of people were implicated-Jack, and many in the Langstrom family.
But Liam wasn’t among them. Clean. Innocent. Like he hadn’t been involved at all.
If you looked closely, it seemed like even if the whole Langstrom family fell, Liam could survive.
How terrifying was that?
Foster caught on too. His expression darkened.
“They’re father and son. He must have been involved.
“And yet he’s been hiding this tape. He must know it would destroy his father. Why keep it?”
Tatiana and Foster looked at each other. They both saw the wariness in each other’s eyes.

Once that doubt took root, it couldn’t be ignored.
Tatiana took a deep breath, “Hold off on any action.”
It seemed she needed to reevaluate Liam.
But the headache was-she was about to marry him.
She’d thought the whole thing would end on the wedding day, with Jack in court.
Now it looked like the show wasn’t over.
She pushed down her frustration and called Jasper.
Thankfully, his phone rang.
“How’s it going over there?”
Jasper’s voice was steady, “Found her location. Negotiations are underway…”
His tone was calm and strong-brief but clear. He told her everything.
Hearing that Tammy had managed to get a message out, half of Tatiana’s worry faded.
She was alive. That meant there was a way.
“I trust you. But keep yourself safe too. Got it?”
“Don’t worry. Once we get her out, we’ll head back. What about you? How are things?”
Tatiana hesitated, then told him the truth.
Jasper, being Jasper, caught the most important detail immediately, “So the wedding is still happening?”
“…That’s not the point.”
“You’re going through the whole ceremony.”

“You’re marrying him.”
Tatiana couldn’t help cutting him off, “We’re not legally binding.”
“But everyone will think you’re married.”

“…Jasper, that’s not the point.”
“I’m coming back now.”
“Don’t be ridiculous!”
“You promised.”
“Things changed-”
“Tatiana.”
She sighed, softening her tone, “Be good. You and I both know this wedding is a fake. It’s not real.”
Silence on the other end.
She had to keep going, “Liam can’t stay. He’s too clean-not a single trace. There has to be more. You know we can’t afford any mistakes.”
Of course Jasper knew.
He just couldn’t accept it.
Rage churned in his chest, striking at his reason over and over.
The woman he loved was marrying another man-going through the full ceremony. How could he not care?
His hatred for the Langstrom family burned even deeper.
Tatiana was afraid he’d act out. She raised her voice, “Jasper. Say something.”
After a long moment, his muffled voice came through, “He can’t touch you.”
She laughed, “What are you thinking?”
“Promise me.”
“Fine. I promise.”
“I’ll come back as soon as I can.”
“…No rush.”
She was genuinely afraid that watching her marry Liam would drive him over the edge.
That man was slippery. He hid behind Jack, looking harmless, but carrying poison fangs.

Liam got home. The housekeeper called out, “Mr. Langstrom, your father wants you in the study.”
“Okay.”
He turned and headed for the study.
Jack was practicing calligraphy. He didn’t look up when the door opened, “You’re back.”
“Yeah.”
“Taken care of?”
“Yeah. She’s been sent off.”
“What about the wedding?”
“Almost ready.”
Jack finally set down his brush and wiped his hands, “The promotion will come through soon. You’ve done well recently. Clean work.”
