Even in Darkness She Chose to Rise (Tatiana and Jasper) novel Chapter 674

Chapter 674 Jack’s Scheme To Seize The Heir

Both father and son had the same idea-keep the child, get rid of Sherry.

She clearly no longer fit the role of the Langstrom family’s mistress. But the baby had to stay The Langstrom bloodline couldn’t be lost. Especially given Liam’s low sperm count issue.

“Are you absolutely sure there won’t be any slip-ups? I can’t afford any mistakes, understand?”

“I’m clear on that.”

“And the prenatal test results?”

“Everything’s normal.”

A faint smile crossed Jack’s face, “A boy would be ideal. But a girl works too-she can always have more. If she’s popped out one, she can pop out another. And an actress? Easy to handle.

Liam kept his mouth shut.

Once upon a time, he might’ve said something to defend Sherry. But those days were gone. Love was dead. All that remained was cold calculation.

And right now, he was calculating the value of what was growing in Sherry’s belly.

“Understood.”

“Good. Give me another copy of the guest list. I want to double-check everything. Nobody gets overlooked.”

The two of them went over wedding details for a bit, then shifted to Liam’s professional future,

Jack was laying the groundwork for his son, tidying up loose ends before retirement. He wanted to make sure Liam went as far as possible.

The study door stayed shut for hours.

When it finally opened, Liam was about to step out-but his father’s voice stopped him. Any word on Jasper lately?”

He shook his head, “That guy’s gone underground. Not a trace

“Which only proves he’s not someone to underestimate.”

On that point, Liam disagreed.

He didn’t think Jasper was anything special. In his mind, the guy was probably too scared to surface, cowering in some hole like a frightened rat.

Not worth the energy.

“Put more eyes on him.”

“Got it.”

Tammy frowned, “Do we really have to go this route?”

Manna shot her a look, “Keep running your mouth and I’ll end you.”

Tammy wasn’t scared anymore. She even cracked a joke, “Then why haven’t you done it already?”

“You want to die?”

“No. Who actually wants that?”

Her flippant attitude made Manna’s temper flare again.

“Don’t think I won’t kill you just because we have history. If you’re useless to me, you’re dead.”

“Relax, I’ll help you. But at least take these chains off first, yeah?”

She rattled the shackles.

Right now, she was trussed up like a wild animal. All her skills meant nothing like this.

“Forget it. Todd doesn’t fully trust me. If I set you loose, I’m the one he’d put down first.”

Manna picked up a bowl, “Eat up.”

She’d come to feed her. Wouldn’t want the woman to actually starve.

Then everything she’d worked for would be for nothing.

Tammy wasn’t a fan of going hungry either, so she opened her mouth, “Ah.”

“Where’d those come from? Who did that?”

Manna yanked her sleeve down.

“Nobody,”

“Don’t lie to me.”

Manna sneered, “Are you dumb or just pretending? Who else would do this?”

Tammy fell quiet. Her chained hands balled into fists.

“I’ll make them pay. I’ll tear that bastard apart piece by piece.”

Manna shoved another spoonful in her mouth, “Zip it. Do you even remember you’re a prisoner? The only reason you’re still breathing is because I’m letting you.”

Tammy clamped her mouth shut.

Right now… she was useless.

Manna wasn’t keeping her alive out of old loyalty. She needed Norman.

The only person Todd feared was Norman.

She never thought it’d come down to relying on that guy.

It left a bad taste in her mouth. And she wasn’t even sure it would work.

She’d been so vicious back then, drawing a hard line. Any man would’ve walked away. He probably gave up.

No. He wouldn’t give up.

Norman definitely hadn’t given up.

He’d gotten the note.

A kid had bumped into him and slipped it into his hand.
