In the book, this was the reason the heroine gained numerous loyal admirers, companions, and lovers.
Heaven knew how to play the game well. They always chose someone with a sharp mind and unwavering righteousness, an individual who could easily win everyone’s favor.
Huang Bai Xing and Di Xiuyu had completely different appearances and personalities. Yet, they shared one trait: a stubborn righteousness that few possessed.
Shen Xian’s eyes flickered. Everyone else kept their eyes on Di Xiuyu, not because their impression of her had improved, but because they found it increasingly difficult to control her.
The Daughter of Destiny was admired and protected by the human race, someone they sought to be close to. But for the demon race, she needed to be firmly grasped within their hands. If they could use her against both Heaven and the humans, they would become invincible.
"Since you’re so determined, there’s no point in further discussion." Shen Xian’s expression darkened. He was too lazy to continue this game with her. He much preferred spending his time with A’Lei.
"Your Majesty, you mustn’t." The Demon Elders suddenly spoke in unison.
Shen Xian narrowed his eyes. Since when had his words become so insignificant that others dared to oppose him?
The voices of the Demon Elders echoed in his mind: "Your Majesty, she is protected by divine power from Heaven. We cannot kill her without affecting our luck. Her fortune is too great."
"Yes, Your Majesty. Violence will not solve this problem. If we cannot keep her under our control, then we must build a good relationship with her. If we show her that we are superior to the human race, she may one day change her mind."
"As for the demons she has killed, we can punish her later, once she loses Heaven’s protection."
"I’m going to the Human Realm. If you cannot keep her here, then send her back." Shen Xian considered their reasoning. It made sense. Though he was now invincible, he didn’t want to risk any unforeseen chaos in the Demon Realm while he was away.
"What if we send someone to seduce her and drain her luck? Once her body is stained with the demonic aura of our race, Heaven will abandon her," they suggested.
In truth, they weren’t afraid of Heaven’s power. But that mysterious being lurking behind the scenes was far stronger than Heaven itself. Before taking action, they needed to uncover that being’s identity and eliminate them to prevent future catastrophe in the Demon Realm.
"Who should we send?" Shen Xian raised an eyebrow.
Both Demon Elders turned to look at him.
Shen Xian: "...."
"Do I look like a prostitute who sells his body to gain a woman’s favor?" He made a disgusted expression, as if the idea of using his charm to seduce and ruin her would make his life a nightmare.
The Demon Elders broke into a cold sweat at his response.
Mr. Potato: You’re definitely a prostitute, (nodded).
"Your Majesty, no one else here is as perfect as you. You are the most suitable candidate," they said helplessly.
"Who says no one else is as perfect as me?" Shen Xian laughed. He glanced at Yasha, whose face was hidden within his cloak, then at Yao, whose enchanting beauty made him a natural seducer.
The Demon Elders turned toward the two Upper Rank Demons, nodding in agreement. Their entire conversation had been conducted through telepathy.
How did Di Xiuyu know about such a place? And more importantly, how did those demons dare to betray Shen Xian?
"Those demons were difficult to deal with. I had to use many of my treasures to bribe them. I can’t wait to see Shen Xian’s reaction once he finds out they betrayed him for me," Di Xiuyu mused, the tip of her nose grazing against Shenlian Yingyue’s neck as she rubbed it back and forth.
Shenlian Yingyue stared at her, Di Xiuyu’s behavior was becoming disturbingly unhinged.
"Why are you telling me this?" She pushed Di Xiuyu away, dodging her touch.
"I thought you’d be happy that I avenged you." Di Xiuyu’s smile remained. "Run Chu was too dangerous. She knew you possessed the Bunny Goddess Mirror. As long as she was alive, she would have eventually tried to kill you to steal your treasure." She took a step closer.
Before Shenlian Yingyue could react, Di Xiuyu suddenly grabbed her wrist and yanked her closer, leaning in even further.
The scars that had once marred Di Xiuyu’s face, inflicted by Run Chu, were completely gone, as if they had never existed. Now, her flawless beauty radiated a chilling, merciless aura, resembling the terrifying Shura of Hell, the same expression Huang Bai Xing wore when torturing her enemies.
"So you witnessed everything." Shenlian Yingyue’s heart skipped a beat.
"Of course. From the moment Shi Ji brought you to the royal palace, I noticed your presence. Even if you tried to conceal it, you couldn’t hide from me." Di Xiuyu smirked.
"Run Chu lost control because of her jealousy, and Shi Ji stood there, watching the spectacle unfold. You had no choice but to use the mirror to protect yourself." She chuckled. She observed Shenlian Yingyue’s expression with undisguised pleasure.
"What do you want from me by doing this?" Shenlian Yingyue’s heart raced with a mix of emotions, but she forced her face to remain neutral and calm.
