End Times, Surviving with My Beastly Army
Chapter 479 Arrival at Northreach
Their heroes were leaving already?
“Robin, after you leave this time, will you come back again?”
A little girl of eight or nine held Robin’s hand, reluctant to let go.
Robin stroked her head. “When I get the chance, I’ll definitely come back.”

But the girl lowered her head sadly. “Mom says when people promise ‘next time, it usually never happens.”
The girl’s mother quickly pulled her back, looking embarrassed. “I’m sorry. Kids don’t always know what they’re saying…”
“It’s okay.”
Robin smiled and crouched down to the girl’s level. “Then stay safe and take good care of your mom and dad. Maybe I’ll surprise you and come back someday.”
The girl immediately brightened. “Robin, you really will come back?”
Robin nodded with a smile.
The girl cheered excitedly, “Yay!”
Before leaving, Robin went to see Langston alone.
Langston looked genuinely flattered. “You came to see me. Is there something else you need?”
“Come with me.”
Robin led Langston to a deserted clearing and waved her hand. To his shock, a helicopter appeared out of thin air!
Langston’s jaw nearly hit the ground, and he rubbed his eyes on instinct. “Wait, what is this? Is this a helicopter? Is this a fucking helicopter? Is this the kind of fucking helicopter you barely ever saw even before the apocalypse?”
She just waved her hand and then… there it was?
And what does she mean by this?
A vague guess formed in Langston’s mind, but it was so absurd that he didn’t even dare think about it too deeply.

Robin finally spoke, “I’ve already contacted Redwood Military Base for you. From now on, you can trade supplies with them directly, and this helicopter will handle transportation.”
Langston swallowed. “Isn’t this… a little too valuable?”
Robin smiled faintly. “Since we’re partners, it makes sense to give us a more direct way to work together.”
She took out a plain-looking little box. “This radio will put you directly in touch with Martin Bax, who currently runs Redwood Military Base.”
Langston felt overwhelmed.
How am I supposed to express my gratitude?
He had a thousand things he wanted to say in gratitude, but none of them felt adequate in that
moment.
“You don’t need to say anything else.”
Reading the gratitude on his face, Robin said, “I already told you this is a partnership, so I’m definitely getting something out of it too.”
Zombie crystal cores only bring me benefits and no drawbacks!
If she wanted Heningford Base to keep delivering, she had to give them the tools to do it.
“Okay…”
Langston looked at the helicopter, then a practical problem hit him. “But… none of us knows how to fly it!”
Robin tossed him a helicopter flight manual and a tablet. “Heningford Base has nearly 10,000 people, so someone must’ve worked with helicopters before the apocalypse. If not, use the manual and the tutorials on this tablet.”
Langston silently picked up the tablet.
The apocalypse had lasted so long, yet this tablet still had a charge.
He started to say something, then thought better of it.
Robin had already done more than enough for them. Asking for anything else would be pushing it.
This was a problem they should solve themselves.

Stuart and Steve had arrived in a car modified by Northreach Base. Its armor and performance
had been pushed to the limit, giving it an intimidating look.
But next to Robin’s two armored vehicles, it was nothing special.
It looked like a toy.
“Wait, this is yours?”
Dave stared at the armored vehicle in front of him, his eyes lit up with excitement.
Looks like I really picked the right person to follow this time!
Stuart and Steve turned their heads away to hide the envy in their eyes.
That looks so damn cool!
When do we get to drive armored vehicles too?
Northreach Base wasn’t far from Heningford Base. Robin and the others had already traveled this route once, so the trip passed without incident. By sunset, they’d reached the gates of Northreach Base.
From atop the walls, two guards immediately grew excited when they spotted the armored vehicles approaching.
“The armored vehicles! It’s those two armored vehicles again!”
One of them shouted excitedly, “They’re back!”
The other also craned his neck to look, but compared with the first man, he remained much calmer. “Don’t get excited yet. Did you forget what happened last time?
“What if they do the same thing again and just drive around once?
“Wouldn’t we have gotten excited for nothing?”
“Oh, right.”
That reminder sobered the man up considerably.
