Dumped My Cheating Ex. Now I'm Sleeping Next to a Billionaire CEO novel Chapter 1616

James knew the women would have endless things to talk about, so he stood up and tilted his chin toward Will. "Come with me."

He led Will out to the balcony. The suite's balcony offered a spectacular view, overlooking more than half of the resort's stunning coastline. It was the peak of tourist season, and the beach below was packed with people. Colorful umbrellas dotted the sand, and the sounds of tourists laughing and playing drifted up through the air.

James leaned against the railing, the sea breeze ruffling the hair across his forehead. His handsome, aloof face exuded the undeniable authority of a true leader. "When are you planning to report for your new position?"

Will stepped up beside him. "After I finish the honeymoon with Abriella, I should report in around the end of next month."

James nodded, his gaze fixed on the deep blue horizon. "Good. Do not think about anything else right now. Just focus on relaxing."

Will hesitated for a moment before he finally voiced his question. "James, about Nelson Corporation. When are you planning to close the net?" He knew that while the corporation seemed peaceful on the surface, its internal structure was already turbulent due to James's covert operations. "Whenever you need me, just say the word." Will's eyes grew incredibly determined, looking exactly like the elite soldier he was back in Dragonscale.

James turned to look at his brother-in-arms, who had braved life and death with him countless times. A fleeting trace of warmth flashed through his dark eyes, but his tone remained absolutely firm. "That will not be necessary. Just focus on enjoying your new life. I will handle Nelson Corporation myself." He paused, his gaze instinctively drifting through the glass door to land on the soft silhouette of his wife inside. His expression softened instantly. "To ensure absolute safety, I am going to wait until my wife safely delivers the baby before I make any major moves."

Will nodded solemnly. Deep in his heart, he made a silent vow. Even if he was about to take on a new post and hang up his Dragonscale uniform, the moment James needed backup, he would rush in to assist without hesitation.

Emmy shook her head and continued. "But then something changed. He started raving like a lunatic in prison. Not only did he mutilate himself, but he also nearly bit a prison guard to death. After three separate psychiatric evaluations by the judicial authorities, it was confirmed that he had developed severe schizophrenia. Because of that, his death sentence was suspended. The authorities transferred him to a high-security mental ward for violent offenders, locking him up with a bunch of criminally insane inmates. They said the execution can only be carried out once he is completely cured and capable of bearing full criminal responsibility."

Abriella scoffed in blatant dissatisfaction. "That is letting him off way too easy. After committing so many crimes and ruining your lives, he actually avoided a bullet to the head? Is this what they mean when they say a plague lives for a thousand years?"

Emmy listened to her best friend's complaints, a faint, cold smile touching her lips. "It might not be as easy as you think. Do you really believe a facility designed to house severely deranged, violent criminals is some kind of peaceful sanatorium?" She recalled the fragmented reports she had seen on the intelligence network, a chilling gleam flashing through her eyes. "From what I know, on his very first day there, he was brutally gang-beaten by several lunatics in his cell."

Abriella's eyes lit up instantly, and she slapped her thigh in excitement. "You know what? That is actually way more satisfying than just giving him a quick bullet to the head." She rolled her eyes playfully, leaning in close to Emmy's ear to whisper conspiratorially. "Hey, Emmy. Do you think your husband was secretly pulling the strings behind the scenes?"
