Doomsday Revenge: Payback Time (Josie) novel Chapter 533

< Chapter 533

Chapter 533.

Just as the tension between the two was about to reach its breaking point, a voice-little more than a whisper-echoed through the void.

Josie Quinn and Cyrus Finch couldn’t understand a word of it at first.

The speaker seemed to be cycling through various languages. After a string of strange, ancient-sounding dialects, it finally settled on a familiar English.

“Greetings, residents of Earth. The voice had a bizarre quality, sounding mechanical yet layered with the tones of a thousand different

instruments.

“Who are you?” Josie was the first to demand.

“I know you have questions,” the voice replied.”Stay calm. I will explain everything to you in time.”

“First, an introduction. I am the Overseer of Argus Galaxy within Nebula Cluster Zdfg25667. You may call me: The Oracle/Yes, that is how you describe your spiritual leaders.” The mechanical voice continued, “The reason you are here is that you were the first to touch upon the truth of

this world.”

“Therefore, you have become the lucky ones chosen by me.”

Josie opened her mouth to speak, but hesitated. She decided to keep quiet and listen.

“Next, I must unfortunately inform you of some terrible news. Your planet, Earth, has been targeted by a band of Interstellar Marauders. They intend to plunder Earth’s resources.”

“According to the rules, it is strictly forbidden to plunder planets that have not yet reached the level of interstellar civilization.”

“However, for certain thieves, challenging civilization and the law is their standard routine.”

“By the time we noticed and discovered their intentions, it was already too late to stop them.”

“Whether by wormhole jumps or warp jumps, even our fastest fleet would arrive some ten light-years behind them.”

“In other words, by the time we arrive, Earth will have already been stripped bare.”

“Because of this, we took emergency measures. We forcibly dispatched a team to risk a black hole jump, triggering a time-space distortion. Before the marauders could arrive, we dropped a surge of energy onto Earth to force its rapid evolution.”

“Our reach is too short to protect you directly. We can only rely on you to save yourselves!”

“Whether or not you can withstand the invasion of the Interstellar Marauders depends entirely on you.”

“We did not know what the original inhabitants of Earth were-whether they were carbon-based or silicon-based lifeforms. So, we released the energy indiscriminately. Whoever obtained the energy first and completed their evolution would be the defenders.”

“As it stands now… ah, it seems you are carbon-based.”
