Divorce Failed! My Wife's Secret Identities Shock the World novel Chapter 1141

The news online was always a mix of truth and fiction, with most reports being completely fabricated.

But there was no smoke without fire.

If the Reed family were truly at peace, these baseless rumors wouldn't be spreading like wildfire.

Maeve Vance immediately called Serenity, but there was no answer.

She tried Julian Reed. Still no answer.

She called Titus Reed. Nothing.

As for Naomi Lowell, ever since Maeve's completely unreasonable brother had taken her away, her phone had barely been turned on.

Finally, she thought of Mason Reed.

This time, the call actually went through.

"Maeve, it's you."

Mason's emotions were as steady as ever, completely unbothered.

When Maeve asked if something had happened at home, he replied at a slow, measured pace.

"Happened? What could have happened? I haven't heard about anything going wrong at home."

"Stop looking at all that nonsense online. Your only job right now is to focus on your pregnancy."

"I have a meeting to get to. I'm hanging up now."

When Maeve tried calling back, he didn't answer.

She immediately realized something was wrong.

"Something definitely happened. I have to go back and check."

With his in-laws potentially in trouble, Andres White certainly wasn't going to stand by and do nothing.

The couple rushed to Gotham overnight, heading straight for Maeve's family home.

This was the first time Andres had stepped into the world where Maeve grew up.

The Reed family manor was far from secluded; it sat on a prime piece of real estate, sprawling across a massive plot of land.

It was already ten at night by the time they arrived at the estate.

"Miss Maeve?"

Maeve didn't bother explaining her sudden arrival. She hurried over and asked, "I heard your life was in danger. What exactly happened?"

Serenity looked a bit bewildered.

"What kind of brainless idiot started a rumor like that?"

Taking her daughter's hand, Serenity offered a comforting squeeze. "I'm fine. But you—why didn't you tell us you were coming? Rushing back here while heavily pregnant, you're going to put the baby at risk."

Maeve, who had been worried sick the entire trip, wrapped her arms tightly around her mother.

"I rushed back because none of you were picking up your phones!"

"Mom, tell me the truth. Did that medicine have side effects? Are you keeping it from me so I wouldn't worry?"

"Where's Dad? Is he okay?"

This entire ordeal had always been a source of anxiety for Maeve. At the slightest hint of trouble, a wave of suffocating guilt would wash over her.

Serenity laughed softly at her daughter's frantic guessing. "My health is perfectly fine, and so is your father."

"Then why do you look so exhausted?" Maeve asked.
