Just to vent his anger on Maeve's behalf, Andres had ruthlessly used Luke Grover to break three of Nancy's fingers.
Instead of hating him, Nancy had uncharacteristically insisted on marrying him even if it killed her, acting completely worthless.
Faye felt ashamed to have a daughter like this.
If Nancy hadn't threatened suicide, Faye never would have arranged a meeting with that White fellow.
Being fiercely reprimanded by her mother, Nancy broke down completely.
She collapsed onto the floor, sobbing uncontrollably, unable to understand why her life had descended into such misery.
"Mom, it's not fair. It's really not fair. I just want to marry him, have his kids, and live a good life."
"But because of your so-called 'interests,' I've lost everything."
"Do you know that we actually had a chance to be together?"
"It's all your fault! Why did you have to control my life back then?"
"Everything I'm facing today is because you thought you knew best."
Faye raised her hand and slapped her daughter hard across the face.
"Wake up, Nancy! There are plenty of men who can marry you and give you children. That Andres White isn't worth it."
Clutching her cheek, Nancy's silent tears morphed into manic laughter.
Her laughter grew wilder, her emotions spiraling out of control.
"But my motto will never change. If I can't have him, I'll destroy myself just to drag him down with me!"
Heartbroken, Faye pulled her daughter into a hug, soothingly rubbing her back.
"Calm down, Nancy. No one in this world is worth ruining your own life over."
"Promise me you'll forget about that White fellow from now on. I will find you a much better man."
Nancy's only response was an unsettling, twisted smile.
"Then, demand a divorce and take the rest of their assets in the split."
"If she resists, make her life a living hell. Punish her every single day."
"As long as you don't kill her, she'll be your free punching bag."
"When she finally can't take it anymore, she'll be the one begging for a divorce."
"That way, you can legally transfer every dime you squeezed out of the Grovers straight into my name."
Maeve flashed a wicked, devilish grin.
"Well? Isn't that a perfect plan?"
Suppressing the urge to burst out laughing, Andres pretended to ponder it deeply for a few seconds.
"I suddenly realize you make an excellent point. I think we can put this on the agenda very soon."
