Claimed By The Rogue Alpha novel Chapter 13

==Olivia==

I'd been in the bathroom for close to an hour now, doing nothing but stand while the shower rained on me. My eyes remained open, even with the sting I felt.

Purge. That was what was on my mind. To strip my body of the past and the memories that came with it. Minutes later, when I was sure the warm shower had done its job, I stepped from the stall. Cold frigid air hit me There was a towel hanging on the rack close by. I grabbed the towel and wrapped it around me.

My hair was dripping wet, plastered firm on my scalp. I walked into the room, immediately catching sight of the dress on the bed. It was a long robe. Yes, robe. Not dress. Burgundy with some embroidery around the V-neckline.

I blinked. One, two, then burst out laughing. Was this a joke? I picked up the robe, lifting it to get a better look. This was definitely 10 sizes larger than me. I didn’t know what to make out of the situation. To be happy that at least I got a warm shower, unlike the cold ones I made do with at home? Or the chance that I got to have a change of clothing after three days. How really was I to react?

Nonetheless, I slipped into the robe, taking a while to check out myself. There wasn’t any mirror here, the same as the bathroom. So, I wouldn’t get the chance to see how ridiculous I looked. That was good, partly.

I climbed back to the bed and raised my legs so I could place my jaw on them. I would stay here for the next…eon or so.

And it was with that thought that I slipped off to sleep. I woke up a moment later when I heard my name.

I squinted my eyes as they adjusted to the harsh light. Finally gaining focus, I saw him standing before me. At the other side of the bed.

Only then did I realise I hadn’t had a nap. It was a deep sleep. A slumber, I’d say. I couldn’t tell what the time was as there weren’t any windows in this rock called a room.

Neither of us said anything. I was beginning to feel uncomfortable under his gaze.

“What do you want?”

He remained silent which made me grow even angrier.

“Seriously, what do you even do for a living? Don’t you have some place to be, signing papers, sealing deals…oh, I forgot.” I gave him a sardonic smile. “You abduct people for a living. Look, I've told you, you aren’t going to get anything out from this. I already—”

“I’m told you've refused to eat,” he said.

“So? That should be the most of my problems?”

I was done staying silent. I was done having this man beast order me around. Who the hell did he think he was, huh, to tell me when or when not to do things.

“Listen, Mr…” Great. I couldn’t for the life of me recall his name.

“Matteo,” he said and I felt a flush of red coat my cheeks. I didn’t dwell much on it.

“Right. Mr. Matteo, listen. I might have come across as a kook.”

He tossed the pillow back to me. It landed on my calf.

“Nice attire, by the way.” He stared at me a couple of seconds before turning to leave.

“Why not kill me instead? It better than having to deal with this claustrophobia inducing room.”

He broke his stride but didn’t face me. Neither did he speak.

“Trust me, that’s better. Now, you aren’t speaking. “

He turned to be this time around. With no smile on his face, not that I was expecting to see one either. Neither was there a scowl.

“It’s a slap on my person to make negotiations with…you. To reiterate what I’m sure I’ve told you, I had and still have the capacity to kill you.”

“Then why don’t you. Make me understand,” I said, pretending that I didn’t realise he'd hinted I was below his class. Typical of a dickhead.

“Have a pleasant day, Miss.” He ended his replay with a smile. One that didn’t reach his eyes.

Oh God.
