She was an absolute menace.
The car ride was perfectly silent, neither of them saying a word the entire way.
Soon, the car rolled to a stop outside the Grant estate.
"Thank you," Vanessa murmured.
Just as her fingertips brushed the door handle, a scorching-hot hand clamped around her wrist like a vice, the grip too dominant to shake off.
She instinctively looked back, only to find the man already leaning into her space, his cool but searing lips crashing down onto hers before she could react.
"Mmph... Alistair..."
The hand pinning her wrist tightened just a fraction, while his other hand slid around the nape of her neck, trapping her firmly between his body and the seat, cutting off every avenue of escape.
His kiss was forceful and scalding, a relentless, claiming pressure that swallowed all her resistance and stole the breath right out of her lungs.
Vanessa melted under the devastating heat of it, her mind slowly short-circuiting until nothing was left but the feverish friction of their mouths sliding together.
His lips dragged lazily downward, trailing wet, biting kisses over her jaw and down her neck. When the crisp, intoxicating scent of tobacco wrapped around her senses, the last thread of her sanity snapped, drowning her completely in the rising tide of pure, unadulterated passion.
"BEEP—"
A piercing car horn abruptly shattered the dead silence of the night.
Vanessa violently jolted, her scattered, clouded mind instantly snapping back to reality. In a total panic, she pushed against the head currently buried in the crook of her neck.
"Alistair, someone's here!"
Mortified and furious, her voice trembled with a soft, breathy weakness that only sounded more incredibly tempting.
Caught in the grip of blinding arousal, Alistair couldn't care less about the noise outside.
His hand locked mercilessly onto the back of her head, sealing his mouth over hers for another relentless, borderline obsessive kiss.
Vanessa was losing her mind with anxiety.
He was completely unhinged, and he was dragging her right over the edge with him!
How could she have let him do this right here?!
Biting her lip, Giselle finally forced herself to walk over and lightly rap on the tinted window.
"Mr. Howard..."
Inside the car, Vanessa heard the voice and thought her heart was going to literally beat its way out of her throat.
But the man pinning her down acted as if he were completely deaf, continuing his slow, devastating assault on her mouth.
Desperate, she hammered her fists lightly against his shoulders before finally biting down hard on his lower lip in sheer panic.
"Giselle is right outside!"
Alistair winced, dragging in a sharp breath, but didn't even spare a single glance at the window.
He slowly licked the drop of blood from his split lip, his gaze heavily shadowed and visibly unsated.
"Relax. The windows are heavily tinted, and the glass is custom soundproof."
He dipped his head back down, his scorching breath fanning across her ear as he let out a low, rough chuckle. "...Shall we continue?"
