Lucas shot to his feet, his knuckles turning white as he clamped an iron grip around her arm. Without a single word, he began dragging her forward.
His eyes boiled with hostility, his expression even more menacing than before. The sheer ice radiating from his body was enough to freeze the air around them.
"Luke, what are you doing?"
Intense terror clawed up Chloe's throat. She desperately grabbed onto his forearm with her free hand, fighting with everything she had to break loose.
"To the hospital. We're getting rid of the baby."
His tone was as cold as a glacier, completely devoid of any hesitation or pity.
Harrison Wells had just hurried down the corridor holding a stack of files when he stumbled upon the scene. His heart gave a violent jolt.
As Lucas brushed past him, he tossed his car keys into Harrison's chest. His voice cracked like a whip. "Go get the car."
Only then did the reality truly crash down on Chloe. He wasn't bluffing.
The last traces of color vanished from her face, leaving her as pale as a corpse.
"No! I won't do it! This is my baby, you have no right to make me do this!"
She had schemed so meticulously to get pregnant with his child, intending to use this baby as her golden ticket to the top.
If she lost the baby, Lucas would never touch her again for the rest of his life.
"You don't get a choice!"
Lucas didn't slow his pace for even a fraction of a second, hauling her relentlessly by the wrist toward the elevators.
When they reached the doors, Chloe braced her feet against the floor and grabbed the doorframe, refusing to step inside.
Ever since Vanessa left, he had been living in pure agony and chaos. It was all her fault.
He was going to correct his mistakes and force everything back onto its proper track.
Lucas shot a lethal glare at Harrison. "What are you standing around for? Help me!"
Not daring to delay, Harrison immediately stepped forward, forcefully peeling Chloe's white-knuckled fingers off the doorframe and shoving her into the elevator.
By the time they reached the underground parking lot, Harrison had the car unlocked and ruthlessly shoved Chloe into the backseat.
Staring at the absolute granite coldness of Lucas's profile, Chloe finally realized there was absolutely no turning back. Eerily, she calmed down. As the car tore onto the road, her sobbing faded into complete dead silence.
It wasn't until she was physically restrained and wheeled toward the blinding lights of the operating room that she finally used every ounce of her remaining strength to grip Lucas's shirt collar.
