Claimed by the Crown Heir novel Chapter 6

"A few years of living comfortably, and you've already forgotten who pays the bills?"

The air was violently crushed from her lungs. Vanessa struggled frantically, her radiant complexion turning scarlet from lack of oxygen, yet her eyes continued to burn a hole right through him.

Lucas met her icy, utterly revulsed stare and snapped back to reality. Horrified by what he was doing, he instantly yanked his hand away.

"Nessa, I didn't mean it! You just kept saying things to provoke me..."

Even now, he was trying to blame her.

He never failed to hit rock bottom.

Vanessa stumbled backward, grabbing the edge of the desk to steady herself as she gasped for air.

"I just love you too much. I couldn't handle you breaking up with me..."

A fleeting flash of regret crossed his face. He stepped forward to touch her, but Vanessa reacted like a trapped animal.

"Stay away from me!"

Lucas stopped dead in his tracks.

"We are entirely done. From this second on... we have nothing to do with each other. You won't touch a single dime of what is mine. If you try to pull any dirty tricks, I have no problem broadcasting your little office porn shoot to the entire internet."

Once inside her car, she made a call.

"Cut off all support to Vortex Group immediately."

Then she called the real estate agent, slashing the asking price by tens of thousands of dollars for a quick sale.

That very afternoon, a buyer came to tour the house and finalized the contract on the spot.

She packed the rest of her belongings and shipped them back to her family home.

She dumped every last thing of Lucas's straight into the trash.

Without a shred of hesitation, she drove off.

That night, she checked into a five-star hotel in Savannah.

At dusk, Lucas pulled into the driveway. Seeing the house completely dark instead of brightly lit, he furrowed his brows.

In the past, no matter how late he came home, Vanessa would always greet him at the door the second she heard his engine.

When he tried to open the door, he found the passcode had been changed.

The deafening music couldn't drown out the raging agitation in his chest.

His friends couldn't stand watching him spiral, but none of them had the guts to confront him. Instead, they called Chloe, begging her to come and talk some sense into him.

Chloe rushed over in a panic, throwing herself straight into his arms and wrapping her hands around his neck.

"Luke, Vanessa is just lashing out because she can't process it yet. Once she figures things out and hits rock bottom out there, she'll come crawling back, begging for you."

Lucas downed another glass, his eyes cold and cynical. "You're right. I'll just wait for her to run out of money and beg for my forgiveness!"

He made a quick call and barked out a few orders.

"Cancel the supplementary credit card under my name, and drain every account connected to Vanessa."

Without cash, she wouldn't survive a single day. Let's see how long her pride lasted then.

Looking down into Chloe's stunning face, Lucas grabbed her jaw and crushed his lips against hers with bruising force.

Chloe let out a soft moan, pulling him closer as she kissed him back eagerly.

"I love you so much, Luke..."
