Nyx turned her head at the sound and saw glittering confetti cannons falling from all directions. 

She stared in shock, her eyes wide open, her brain racing, and then it hit her. “Today is my birthday?” 

Her friends had come to find her without any prior notice, it was all to give her a surprise. 

As soon as she said it out loud, the lights shifted, and the living room instantly transformed Flowers decorated every corner, and gifts were scattered everywhere–some from those present, and others from friends like Xivar who couldn’t attend but had sent them in advance.

“You remember?” Theon was surprised and nodded, not expecting Nyx to recall it so clearly. 

He had served as the commander of this regiment for many years before being reassigned. He hadn’t returned for a long time, and this trip gave him the chance to revisit. 

To maintain military secrecy, the spaceship did not land directly at the base but chose a nearby satellite planet instead.

“Nyx, this is the planet where you landed when you returned to the Empire,” Zayne said softly, explaining to Nyx. “The soldiers discovered you here.” 

More than twenty years had passed, but this place still looked like a Primitive Planet.
