Before Casia could finish a particle beam struck his wrist. The searing pain left him speechless for a second before he let our a blood–curdling scream 

Casia thought, My hand–my hand is ruined. Who the hell did this The Security Bureau can’t have gotten here this fast they also don’t have weapons this powerful and wouldn’t fire on sight 

Trembling with fury and confusion, Casia turned toward the source of the shot–A group of males stood there 

Each one held a weapon. They weren’t in uniform, but their chilling presence was unmistakable. They were professionals killers. 

Every weapon was aimed at Casia 

The moment Casia so much as twitched, another shot hit his left shoulder, sending him crashing to the floor in agony 

Casta thought. “In broad daylight, how the hell did these people dare? 

Casia wanted to curse, but he didn’t dare move or make a sound. One more hit, and he might not live through it 

He lay there, pressing his car against the floor, listening as the males slowly approached. His heart pounded so hard he thought it would explode. 

“Forgive us for allowing Your Highness to be startled. It was our failure, the royal guards said, kneeling on one knee as they formed a protective circle around Sera. 

“It’s not your fault.” Sera replied, calmly straightening her slightly ruffled clothes. 

She wasn’t scared. She had let herself get caught on purpose. It was a sting operation. She had noticed Casia a long time ago. 

If she had simply had him arrested earlier, he would’ve only been detained for a few days. If she had fought back when he attacked, she could have overpowered him–but that wouldn’t have solved the real problem. At most, he’d get a few extra years in prison. 

Now, it was over for good. Attempting to assassinate the Crown Princess was one of the Empire’s most serious crimes. Even if Casia wasn’t executed on the spot, he would be locked up for life. 

Sera smiled, satisfied. 

To the onlookers, her expression, her posture–it was just like her father’s. Even after a life–threatening situation, Sera remained poised and unshaken, regal and perfect, just like the new Emperor. 

The mere chance to see the Crown Princess in person felt like a once–in–a–lifetime blessing for everyone there. Everyone except Casia, who stared blankly, his mind completely frozen. 

He had spent over a decade in prison, toiling away in the mines, completely cut off from the outside world. He had no idea what had changed. 

He thought. ‘It’s supposed to be His Highness, isn’t it? Did the royal family just have a little princess? Did she replace Aurelius? 

He stared blankly at the female cub. White hair and blue eyes–definitely the royal family’s traits. And her features looked kind of familiar to him. 

“You’re Nyx’s daughter? Casia finally realized who Sera looked like. It all made sense to him now. 

Casia thought back to the moment his bad luck started–and all the times he’d suffered humiliation at Xivar’s hands–it all

seemed to trace back to that Nys. Casia felt his chest tighten, his vision darkened, and he passed out on the spot. 

Casia ended up staying unconscious for three whole days. The moment he woke up, he was hit with a lifetim imprisonment sentence 

Xivar rushed over inmediately, rubbing salt in the wound with a grin, “Oh, and by the way, your father got caught for bribery. He’s gonna be joining you in prison” 

And that wasn’t even the worst part–Casia’s entire family was going down with him, ruined because of his actions. 

That was the price of attempting to assassinate the Crown Princess. 

Casia turned pale as a ghost and started wailing, screaming that he was innocent. 

If he’d known Sera was Nyx’s daughter, he would never have dared touch her. 

Xivar looked down at Casia with a cold, distant gaze. “Rot in here until you die.” 

What was supposed to be a fun day for her got totally ruined. 

Sera wasn’t too bothered, though. She happily finished her little cake, and then went ahead and ate a whole big one too. Bur Nivar still felt guilty. 

She bought Sera a bunch of gifts and found another day to take her out again. 

Over the past ten years, Earth still hadn’t fully integrated with interstellar civilization, but official trade had already begun. 

These days. Central Planet’s streets were packed with Earth’s street food. 

Sera the little glutton spent the whole day outside playing and came home with a full belly, even smacking her lips in her sleep. 

“Mom, my younger brother never had food from outside before. That’s so sad! Let’s take him out to eat.” Early in the morning, the little white kitten was already perched by Nyx’s bedside, meowing and acting cute. 

Nyx saw right through Sera using her brother as an excuse. She chuckled and decided to indulge her little foodie. “How about after breakfast? Theon already made us breakfast. We can have lunch and dinner outside.” 

“Okay” Sera happily kneaded Nyx’s arm with her little paws. “For lunch, I want stir–fried food. For dinner, roast beef. And I want to drink cola.” She rattled off a whole list of food, practically drooling. 

Meanwhile, little Black Mamba, Sera’s younger brother, just sat there looking completely lost. He had no idea what any of those things were. He curled up into a little ball, dazed. 

Even though his beast form was a highly venomous snake, he was ridiculously easy to bully. He had a gentle and patient nature, like a ball of dough that anyone could knead however they wanted. 

Looking at him, Nyx could see glimpses of how Kian used to be. 

But unlike Kian his father, this little one was far luckier. He was born into a happy family, where he could just be mom’s boy. Even when they went out, he always coiled around Nyx’s wrist, sticking close to her. 

While waiting in line for street food, he overheard Nyx saying she was thirsty. Slowly, he slithered down and volunteered to go buy her a drink

The moment the stall heard his slow, babyish voice, their hearts melted. They gently lifted him onto the counter so he could reach the menu with the tip of his tail. 

The door chime rang, and a mother and child walked into the store. 

As the mother approached the counter and saw the little black snake, her face turned deathly pale. She let out a high- pitched scream “A SNAKE–Why is there a snake in your store? Get it out of here right now” 

“Ma’am, please calm down. He’s a customer too.” The staff quickly shielded little Black Mamba. 

The mother trembled so violently that her legs gave out, and she collapsed onto the floor, unable to get up. 

Her son was shaking like a leaf too, his face drained of color. He stood frozen in place, unable to take a single step. Even as he watched his mother fall, he didn’t move to help her up. 

No normal person would be this terrified. Yet that mother and son pair were Kian’s mother and younger brother. 

Back when Kian lost control, he left them with serious psychological trauma. Not only were they scared of snakes, but they were especially terrified of black ones. 

Even now, with Kian being successful and holding a high position, they didn’t dare to suck up to him. Instead, they spent every day and night worrying about revenge. Out of sheer avoidance, they blocked out all news related to Kian, hiding like two frightened turtles. 

Years had passed, and the chubby kid from before had grown into a full–fledged fat male. 

Overwhelmed by fear, he puts on a tough front and yells, “Whose kid is this with no manners? Don’t you know snake beast forms are terrifying? Why the hell wouldn’t you shift into your human form in public? 

“Where the hell are your parents? You scared my mother–if you don’t compensate us, this won’t end well.”
