Yet this wife of his couldn't even grasp the opportunities handed to her.
She avoided him like the plague.
Did she really dislike him that much?
Feeling displeased, Alaric returned to the bathroom and inspected his own reflection in the mirror.
He didn't think he looked old at all.
He shaved diligently every day, and his skin was flawless.
How could a young girl be so repulsed by him?
Or did young girls only want men their own age?
Like Ethan Foster, or that Patrick guy?
Alaric felt frustrated, completely unable to understand what his wife was thinking.
If she liked young men, why did she demand he marry her in the first place?
She could have just had Ethan marry her; Ethan liked her anyway.
The more he thought about it, the more irritated he became. By the time Alaric went downstairs, his handsome face was as cold as ice.
Ivy and Stella were already sitting properly at the dining table, waiting.
Seeing Alaric walk over fully dressed, his short hair still slightly damp, giving his freshly showered appearance an extra dash of crisp handsomeness.
His features were chiseled, his brows sharp, and his eyes bright.
Ivy couldn't help but steal a few extra glances.
She muttered inwardly that this man was truly gorgeous.
He had a great physique, long legs, and an innate nobility running through his veins.
From any angle, he looked like a prince straight out of a royal family in a fairy tale.
She had no idea where she got the courage back then to demand he marry her.
Thinking back on it now, Ivy wanted to laugh.
"Let's eat!"
Alaric sat down, staring coldly at Ivy.
Ivy snapped back to reality, guiltily avoiding his gaze as she picked up her fork to serve Stella some food.
Stella was quite happy today.
Because her mommy had picked her up from preschool and even told the teacher she was her mommy.
And all her classmates had heard it.
All her attention was dedicated to pleasing his daughter.
He didn't know whether this girl was stupid or just incredibly dense.
If she wanted money, wouldn't it be better to please the man holding the purse strings rather than a child?
He found it rather boring.
Alaric ate casually and headed upstairs.
Ivy didn't pay him any mind.
She only wondered how a grown man like Mr. Foster could eat even less than Stella.
Was he eating so little to maintain his figure?
She couldn't figure it out.
Nor did she want to guess what others were thinking.
After dinner, Ivy took Stella for a walk to digest their food before returning to the living room to teach Stella a song.
The singing quickly drifted upstairs, reaching Alaric's ears.
Alaric lost his focus on the documents, leaning back on the sofa in the tea room, looking lazy and relaxed as he closed his eyes to enjoy the melody.
