Buying My Forever Wife novel Chapter 248

He assumed Mason wouldn't have any reason to doubt him.

"What?"

Mason listened in utter disbelief.

"A guy like you actually got played by a woman? And you let her back you into a corner? Alaric, where did all that ruthlessness go from when you first took over Foster Group?"

Alaric never expected to be checkmated by a woman either.

He had completely dropped his guard.

"So what do you want me to do? Take her out for you?" Mason asked.

Alaric didn't deny it, laying out his plan.

"She's holding the antidote I need. If I don't play along, she won't hand it over. Killing her does me no good."

"I want you to seduce her. Charm the antidote out of her, and then you can dispose of her however you see fit."

"Excuse me?"

Mason burst out laughing, staring at Alaric to make sure he heard him right.

"You want a gay guy like me to hit on a woman who's obsessed with you?"

Alaric kept his eyes locked on the road, deliberately stroking Mason's ego.

"You're the only one who can pull this off. Look at you—handsome, built, tall, filthy rich, and capable. What woman wouldn't fall for a guy like you?"

Mason was clearly enjoying the flattery, a smug grin spreading across his face.

"Is that really how you see me?"

"Obviously. Now show me what you've got. You have ten days to make her yours."

Mason tried to suppress his grin and asked, "If I pull this off, what's my reward?"

He wasn't running a charity.

They were businessmen; nobody worked for free.

He looked at Alaric, eagerly awaiting his counteroffer.

But Alaric's expression darkened as he focused on the road.
