Alaric's eyes were like ice as he stared down the doctor.

"Then research it. I don't care what it costs, you will eradicate every last trace of that drug from her system. If anything happens to her because of this, none of you will keep your jobs."

The doctor bowed his head nervously. "Yes, sir."

Alaric took the results and headed to the neighboring residential complex.

It was the building where Ivy and Stella were staying.

Aside from the anomaly in her blood, the child seemed physically fine.

But the antidote he desperately needed was still in Elena's hands, which meant he had to string her along for a bit longer.

Ivy and Mrs. Gable had just finished making breakfast and were getting Stella out of bed when the doorbell rang.

Mrs. Gable hurried to answer it.

Seeing the boss at the door, she turned to Ivy with a bright smile.

"Mrs. Foster, the boss is here."

Ivy was a little surprised.

She looked at the man stepping into the entryway.

He looked exhausted, his complexion pale and drawn.

Knowing he only brought Elena back to the estate out of necessity, Ivy dropped her grievances. She quickly stood up, pulled out a chair for him, and asked softly, "Have you eaten? Do you want to join us?"

"Yeah."

Alaric didn't hesitate to sit down.

He glanced at the child beside him, affectionately reaching out to ruffle her hair.

Stella blinked her big eyes at him and asked, "Why are you sad, Daddy?"

Alaric replied gently, "Daddy isn't sad. Seeing you makes me very happy."

"Then why did you make me and Mommy move here? Even though it's nice, I still like The Starlight Estate better because you built it just for me."

Stella knew the origin of the estate's name.

She knew her daddy loved her so much that he had built a mansion and named it after her.

Alaric patiently explained it to the child.

"I need you to stay here for a little while. I'm having some people renovate the estate to add more fun play areas for you."

Stella's eyes lit up with a huge smile. "Really?"
