Ivy swallowed hard, a blush creeping up her cheeks as she moved toward him.
Straddling his lap, she looped her arms around his neck, tilting her chin up to initiate a kiss.
Alaric thoroughly enjoyed her assertiveness.
It was highly addictive, drawing him in until he was completely hooked.
More than once, he lost control, his lips trailing hungrily over her skin.
Ivy winced, her face scrunching up as she softly warned him.
"Not my neck... Elena will see the marks."
Alaric grunted in agreement, shifting his attention.
He couldn't understand why he was becoming so utterly obsessed with his little wife.
She was like an exquisite delicacy; one taste was never enough, and he found himself constantly craving more.
Perhaps he was being too rough.
Overwhelmed, Ivy couldn't hold back a soft moan.
The bedroom window happened to be cracked open.
Down the hall, sleeping in the nursery with Stella, Elena thought she heard something.
Uncertain, she got up and pressed her ear near the window to listen.
Sure enough, she caught the faint sound of heavy panting.
But she refused to believe it was coming from the master bedroom.
Maybe she was just hearing things?
Right at that moment, two stray cats started screeching and fighting in the garden below.
The noise completely drowned out whatever sounds were slipping from the master suite.
Elena let out a long breath of relief.
It was just the cats.
She reasoned with herself. She had known Alaric for five years, and in all that time, he had never shown the slightest romantic interest in her.
How could he possibly fall for Ivy in just a few short months?
Let alone summon her to his bed for that kind of intimacy.
She was definitely overthinking things.
Meanwhile, inside the master bedroom.
Ivy was utterly exhausted, clinging to his neck as she begged for mercy.
