"I was waiting to see if you wanted to handle this personally, or if I should involve the police to clear Mrs. Foster's name."
Listening to the report, Alaric's face turned to stone. He gripped his fountain pen so tightly it nearly snapped in half.
Summer again.
She had nearly killed Ethan just to frame Ivy.
Keeping someone like her around would only bring disaster to the Foster family.
He raised a hand dismissively. "Hand the evidence over to the police."
Leo hesitated for a moment before reminding him.
"Are you sure? If Madeline goes crying to Old Mrs. Foster, I'm worried it will put you in a difficult position."
Alaric was entirely unbothered. "The person she harmed is a Foster. Do you really think my mother cares more about a granddaughter from a different surname than her own grandson?"
She fed off the Foster family's wealth, ignored their rules, and abused their name to bully others.
Such an arrogant and reckless person would never learn her lesson unless she spent a few years reflecting in a prison cell.
Understanding his boss's resolve, Leo nodded. "Understood. I will notify the authorities immediately."
Alaric added one last instruction.
"Before Summer gets locked up, make sure she compensates Ivy for medical expenses and emotional distress."
Ivy loved money so much, yet she hadn't asked him for a dime after fulfilling her wifely duties.
He would make sure she got the payout she deserved.
That very afternoon, the police took Summer away.
She was charged with attempted murder, and the evidence was ironclad.
The news quickly reached the main estate.
Madeline knelt on the floor, crying and begging Eleanor.
"Mom, she's my only daughter! You can't let her go to prison! She won't ever do it again, I promise. Please just spare her this once!"
The evidence provided by the police was overwhelming.
Summer had bribed a colleague to tamper with Ivy's medicine, which nearly cost Ethan his life.
