Buying My Forever Wife novel Chapter 139

Ivy absentmindedly replied as Dr. Elena Sinclair gently applied the medicinal ointment to her bruised cheek.

"Yeah, he comes home every day."

Elena hid her irritation at the answer.

Once she finished treating the bruise, realizing Alaric wouldn't be back for a while, she put on an awkward smile.

"I actually just got my period on the way over. Do you happen to have a pad I could borrow?"

Ivy nodded and stood up to head upstairs.

To her surprise, Elena trailed right behind her.

It wasn't like she could tell her no.

The woman was having a feminine emergency, after all.

She needed a pad and a bathroom.

Without making a fuss, Ivy simply glanced at Mrs. Gable and asked her to keep an eye on Stella.

Ivy walked into her bedroom.

She pulled a pad from the nightstand drawer and handed it over.

Elena took it, her gaze sweeping across the spacious room in sheer disbelief.

"Do you sleep in here?"

This was clearly the guest suite right next to the master bedroom.

It was even larger than Stella's room.

Beautifully decorated and undeniably luxurious, this was no place for a hired nanny.

Realizing what the doctor was trying to figure out, Ivy quickly explained:

"Oh, no, I don't sleep here. I usually sleep in Stella's room. It's just not convenient to keep these kinds of things in a child's room, so I just tossed them in here."

Elena's smile tightened.

Just tossed them in here?

Was she really allowed to just do whatever she pleased in this house?

Was Alaric truly that lenient with her?

Did Alaric have his company send them over for her?

Why would he shower her with such lavish gifts?

Did he actually have feelings for her?

Driven by a sickening wave of jealousy, Elena crept over to Alaric's master bedroom.

Even though she couldn't find a single trace of a woman in his personal space.

The sheer volume of clothes next door cemented her suspicion that he cared deeply for Ivy.

If she stayed at the Starlight Estate, it was only a matter of time before they fell in love. Elena refused to let that happen.

Alaric was going to be hers.

Suppressing her swirling emotions, she walked downstairs, projecting an aura of perfect, gentle elegance. She sat down next to Stella and put on a pitiful pout.

"Stella, I'm so exhausted today. Mind if I stay and have dinner with you girls?"

Stella figured the doctor was here to heal her mommy's bruised face. Having her around meant her mommy would heal faster.

"Sure!" she cheered. "You can stay for dinner, Elena!"
