Cassie took another step forward.
“Or perhaps,” she continued, her voice sharpening, “you can no longer do that… since you were fired frkm Malakai Group of Companies months ago.”
A wave of murmurs spread across the hall. Confusion. Suspicion.
“Who are you to accuse him?!” Mr. Romero demanded, pointing at her.
Cassie smiled faintly.
“Go on,” she said, her eyes still on Warren.
“Tell him who I am.” Her gaze flicked briefly to the side.
“Or maybe…” she added, “you recognize him?”
All heads turned.
Leaning against a wooden post, arms crossed, stood Ashton-silent, composed, watching.
Warren’s breath caught.
“C-CEO Pierce…” he stammered, dread flooding his face.
Cassie stepped closer, her presence now undeniable.
“Firing you was the biggest mistake I ever made, Warren Minerva,” she said coldly.
“It only gave you the opportunity to prey on people like them.” She exhaled, then turned to the farmers.
“Malakai Group will never force anyone to sell their land,” she stated clearly.
“We help farmers-without taking what is rightfully theirs.”
Uneasy glances spread through the crowd.
“What Dino and Carmel said is true,” Cassie continued, her jaw tightening.
“This project… doesn’t exist.” Her gaze snapped back to the two men.
“You were deceived,” she said.
୮
“You didn’t sell your land for development-you were manipulated into handing it over for their own greedy gain.”
Mr. Minerva looked like he might collapse. Mr. Romero… still looked lost.
“Don’t confuse us, Miss!” he barked, though his voice wavered.
“You’ll regret this!”
Cassie’s expression didn’t change.
“Tell them,” she said quietly-yet the authority in her voice silenced everything.
“Who am I, Mr. Minerva?”
The room held its breath. Warren trembled.
Warren swallowed bard The

The words exploded into the room. Silence followed Abioge
“She is.. what?” Mr. Romero whispered, his face draining of color as he turned to Cess
“This ends now,” Cassie said coldly
“And this won’t stop at your dismissal, Mr. Minerva.” Her gaze shifted to Mr. Romero.
now seeing her for the first
“And you,” she added, her voice calm but edged with danger, “will return every piece of land you took.”
“I paid for those lands!” he argued, shaking his head.
“If they want them back, they have to buy them!”
Cassie’s lips curved into a faint, chilling smile.
“Don’t worry,” she said softly,
“You won’t need money where you’re going ”
Understanding dawned too late. Warren collapsed to his knees.
“Chairman Greene-please!” he begged.
“We’ll return everything! We’ll leave-just give us a chance!”
Cassie didn’t move.
“I already did,” she replied.
“When I fired you.” Her voice turned colder.
“But you chose this.”
Silence returned-but this time, it felt different. Not fear. Something else.
All eyes shifted… back to her.
“Greene…?”
Eliseo’s voice broke through, soft and uncertain. Cassie stilled.
“We share the same name,” he said slowly, a fragile, almost disbelieving smile forming.
“Eliseo Greene.”

Dino let out an awkward breath. “It’s not a common name… I didn’t expect someone like you to have it too, Chairman.”
Cassie’s heart clenched. Their eyes were on her now~not as strangers.
But as something else. Something closer. Her vision blurred.
“I… never met my mother,” she said, her voice trembling despite her effort to stay composed.
“She died giving birth to me.”
Silence deepened.
Chanter 229.
“She worked as a maid,” Cassie confinned, her gaze fixed on Eliseo.
A breath. Shaky.
“All I know…” she whispered, “ts that I am the daughter of Daisy Greene.”
The name echoed softly in the room.
And I only recently learned…” she added, a tear slipping down her cheek as she smiled faintly at him–
“That she came from Sta. Cristina.”
