Raelynn hadn't seen that coming.
She stared up at Seraphina, who stood there with an air of complete entitlement, practically radiating the aura of a legal wife.
A mocking smile tugged at Raelynn's lips.
The sheer audacity of the woman was blinding.
In the brief moment Raelynn sat in speechless disbelief.
Several people nearby noticed the brewing confrontation.
Wherever Sebastian Croix went, prying eyes were sure to follow.
An executive in the row behind them assessed the situation and, naturally assuming Seraphina was the legitimate girlfriend, decided to play peacemaker. "Miss, you might not be aware, but Ms. Vance is with Mr. Croix. Why not just do them a favor and move?"
A few others, eager to score points with Sebastian, quickly chimed in. "Exactly. There's no reason to split up a couple, right? Just swap seats. It's not a big deal."
Hearing the crowd take her side, Seraphina's lips curved into a triumphant smirk.
She stared down at Raelynn. "The conference is about to start. Let's not hold everyone up, alright?"
Her tone was polite.
But the underlying message was a blatant eviction notice.
Raelynn blinked slowly, crossing her legs as she met Seraphina's gaze. "You're fighting over a chair. Are you begging for my charity? Because this is a terrible way to ask for a favor."
Seraphina's smile froze. "There's no need to be dramatic, Raelynn. It's just a seat."
"It's the seat the organizers assigned me. Take it up with them if you have a problem," Raelynn retorted calmly.
Seraphina faltered.
The organizers were immensely powerful; she couldn't afford to offend them.
"Are you trying to use them to threaten me?" Seraphina hissed, her voice dropping to a warning whisper.
"If you want to be glued to Mr. Croix's side, sitting on his lap would be much more effective than sitting here." Raelynn scoffed, clearly unyielding.
Knowing Sebastian, he'd probably let her do it, too.
Honestly, when Raelynn first realized she was seated next to her ex-husband, she had considered asking Preston to switch with her.
But since Seraphina had decided to pick a fight, she wasn't budging an inch.
Raelynn wasn't someone who bowed to pressure.
It was his way of responding.
Seraphina would always have VIP privileges.
Raelynn understood that perfectly.
The gazes directed at Raelynn grew increasingly contemptuous and mocking.
They clearly viewed her as an obstinate outsider who didn't know her place and refused to play along.
Raelynn couldn't care less.
Only she knew exactly what boundaries she was fiercely defending by refusing to move.
The crowd's attitude toward Seraphina, however, was a stark contrast.
The moment she sat down, people began eagerly chatting her up.
"Ms. Vance, I've seen your medical segment on TV! You're even more beautiful in person. You're easily the most stunning woman here today."
Seraphina offered a gracious smile. "Thank you."
"It's all thanks to people like you that the public understands the hard work of medical researchers. My kid absolutely loves you and wants to study in your field!"

The readers' comments on the novel: Boss, Your Wife Signed the Divorce Agreement Before the Wedding
Sebastian, the man of few words.... needs to find all the words! Needs to fight for her! On note, seven years seems like a long time for this master plan (which I am sure goes back much farther). Rereading this novel, and it seems like everything has played out in a 5-8 month time span. And I feel like all Sebastian's doings/ plan have not been revealed. I hope we get to see the whole picture and have the resolutions we hope. But seven years of mistreatment, I just don't see Raelynn fully coming back. If these was 2-3 years, maybe, and I know it changes some characters around, but it would still work. Rooting for them!...
Literally on edge!...
No, no, no! Sebastian needs to nip the Zella situation and win Raelynn back! Also, Leo, he is a wildcard for Sebastian's master plan... Sebastian- we know you know, what we know, win your family back!...
I thought now Sebastian and Raelynn will be together now that seraphina is not but you are not letting them to be. Two new female around Sebastian 😭...
I think Ian is sly. He is not what he seems. Sebastian loves Raelyn and they have a daughter together. Besides he has no family to even take care of him. I feel Raelyn should realise that Sebastian is only her true love and go back to him....
The croix family is evil...
