Sienna was a doctor. One glance was all it took to know that swelling wasn't natural.
Unless she had deliberately manipulated the area and applied a chemical irritant, there was absolutely no way her face would puff up like that.
"A personal vendetta?"
She sauntered out from behind Jarred, her voice low but sharp enough to make all the color drain from Celeste's face.
"Don't we need to have a personal feud for it to be a vendetta? Or have you been doing something shady behind my back that I don't know about?"
That single sentence effectively shut Celeste up. Her face flushed violently before going ghostly pale.
Staring at Sienna standing triumphantly before her, the pitiful tears in her eyes instantly sharpened into toxic resentment.
Sienna let out a soft chuckle, stepping fully into the room as her eyes lazily scanned Celeste's face. "Tsk, that swelling is just a bit too even... Are you sure you applied enough iodine?
Next time, you don't need to put yourself through so much trouble. I know an incredible special effects makeup artist I can recommend. The results are much more realistic."
Celeste's face turned completely chalky, as if Sienna had just stomped violently on her Achilles heel.
Terrified that Sienna might expose her further, she immediately burst into a hysterical shriek. "Get out! I don't want to look at you!"
Completely unhinged, she grabbed a pillow and hurled it directly at Sienna.
Jarred, who had been completely silent up until now, stepped smoothly between them, pinning Celeste's shoulders to the bed. "Celeste, calm down. She's here to apologize. She knows she was out of line."
"Apologize?" Celeste obviously didn't buy it, her lips twisting into a malicious sneer. "She thinks she's better than everyone else. She'll only apologize to me when pigs fly."
Hearing this, Sienna playfully blinked her eyes and waved her phone in the air, the screen still brightly displaying the massive bank transfer.
She smiled sweetly. "You're absolutely right. Turns out, someone just paid for a first-class ticket on that flying pig."
Celeste couldn't decipher what Sienna meant, but the smug, arrogant look on her face confirmed it was nothing good.
