Chapter 296: Chapter 293: Mrs. Qin Meets Wen Xiaobao

Wen Xiaobao searched the Suburban Forest, leading Little Bu by the hand.

She showed Little Bu a picture. "Help me look for it, okay? It’s this kind of plant. The undersides of its leaves are green, and the edges are pink."

"The flowers are a beautiful, translucent white, and they’re incredibly fragrant. They’re my mom’s favorite."

Little Bu glanced at it and nodded.

The two began their search in the forest.

Suddenly, someone approached from nearby.

Little Bu’s ears twitched alertly as spiritual power radiated from him.

All around them, ferocious beasts from the Abyss were closing in, using the dense undergrowth of the forest for cover. They stared, mouths watering, at the tender and delicious-looking little rabbit.

Wen Xiaobao, completely unaware, was bent over, digging in the dirt. ’This looks like it. I’ll dig it out and see...’

A lurking tiger burst from the deep woods, a flash of white lightning as it pounced, all four paws leaving the ground at incredible speed.

But Little Bu was faster. With a single swipe of his claws, he sliced the tiger in half as if it were tofu, then casually kicked the body aside.

Blood sprayed from the tiger’s corpse, splattering onto distant leaves.

Wen Xiaobao looked up in confusion. "Is it raining?"

Little Bu’s eyes flickered. "No."

Wen Xiaobao scratched her head, puzzled. "Then why did it sound like rain hitting the leaves?"

Little Bu said nothing.

He rarely spoke when it was just the two of them.

All the vocabulary and phrases he knew had been taught to him by Wen Xiaobao.

Wen Xiaobao paid it no mind and went back to her diligent search for the little flower seedling.

Suddenly, someone began to slowly approach from a distance.

A cold glint flashed in Little Bu’s eyes.

He said, "I. Go up high. Keep watch for you."

Wen Xiaobao: "Okay!"

Little Bu leaped nimbly into a tree and, just as he expected, saw soldiers slowly approaching in the distance.

Of course, he recognized their uniforms.

He had been dealing with people like them since the day he was born.

They were holding guns and continuing to advance in Wen Xiaobao’s direction.

Little Bu unsheathed his claws, and his figure instantly began flitting through the trees.

A muffled squelch echoed out, but amidst the chirping insects and forest creatures, the sound was not out of place.

Wen Xiaobao: "Do you see anything moving?"

Little Bu finished off another approaching soldier. "No."

The soldiers had noticed Little Bu’s presence. They vigilantly formed a back-to-back formation and advanced with greater caution.

Wen Xiaobao: "You’re up high. Can you help me look for any little white flowers?"

Little Bu tore two soldiers to shreds and nonchalantly wiped his fingers on the leaves of a nearby bush. "Don’t see any."

Wen Xiaobao was a little disappointed. "Be serious! You didn’t even look. You’re not allowed to just fob me off."

Little Bu pressed his lips together. "Okay."

He moved, a black phantom flashing through the woods. His toes tapped lightly on leaves, like a gentle breeze sweeping past.

All of the approaching soldiers were annihilated.

Deeper in the woods, a figure in white was slowly approaching.

Little Bu caught a familiar scent. His back instantly arched, his tail drooped, and a warning hiss escaped his throat.

Mrs. Qin, wearing a cloak, slowly stepped out from behind a tree. "Number 3, don’t be afraid. It’s me."

When Little Bu saw her, his aggression only intensified.

Mrs. Qin frowned slightly. "Do you not even recognize my scent anymore? Come back with me!"
