Beast World: From Villainess to Cub-Raising Chef novel Chapter 228

Chapter 228: Chapter 226: The Beast God’s Prophecy

The black bear was completely fooled, its attention drawn away by the Clone.

Bai Su quietly breathed a sigh of relief, thankful that she had upgraded her Clone.

Not only had its evasiveness and speed improved, but the Clone could also now last for three months.

But soon, she found nothing to smile about.

The sound of the explosion had woken more beasts lurking in the darkness.

’This is bad,’ Bai Su thought. She had no choice but to raise her guard and start scrolling through all sorts of miscellaneous items in the System Mall.

Leia, huddled fearfully on her back, started grumbling, "What about your Companion Ability? Is this all you’ve got for self-defense?"

"You’re completely useless, aren’t you?"

While vigilantly scanning her surroundings, Bai Su said calmly, "Keep chirping and I’ll throw you off."

Leia: "I’m your sister! How dare you talk to me like that? You disrespectful little brat, believe it or not, I’ll..."

CLICK. With a crisp sound, Bai Su’s fingers unfastened the buckle on her left shoulder strap.

Leia: "Sis, I was wrong."

Finally, there was silence.

Bai Su purchased a Protection Crystal from the System Mall and tossed it into the air.

The crystal quickly enveloped them, creating a ten-square-meter safe zone.

The other three Clones didn’t dare move rashly within the safe zone either.

The beasts slammed against the protective barrier, their roars deafening.

Seeing that they were safe, Leia burst out laughing. "Come on, you stupid pigs! Bring it on if you’ve got the guts! Your daddy’s standing right here—I’ll take the loss if I so much as flinch!"

A vein throbbed on Bai Su’s forehead. "Just shut up."

Leia: "What’s there to be afraid of when you have something this good? You only live once! When you get the chance to be arrogant, you take it!"

Bai Su observed her surroundings, her expression unchanging. ’The way these beasts are roaring will definitely attract more of them.’

She wasn’t sure how many attacks the protective barrier could withstand.

More and more beasts were drawn in.

Bai Su asked the system, "How much longer can the barrier hold?"

System: "If the number of beasts continues to increase, it can last for another two hours."

Bai Su asked again, "Can you detect how many beasts are here? Or, roughly what types of beasts there are?"

System: "Apologies, Host. I cannot do that."

Bai Su rephrased her question. "Is there an item that can do that?"

System: "The detector in the System Mall! It only costs twenty thousand ordinary points!"

Bai Su: "Buy it."

Bai Su took the detector and scanned the area.

There were indeed a lot of beasts at the bottom of the cliff, most of them large creatures. With so many of them, escape was impossible.

The signal was poor here, so Bai Su couldn’t use her terminal to search for more information about the Abyss.

After a moment’s thought, she purchased one protective barrier after another from the system.

’Since I can’t beat them, I’ll just have to conserve my strength and wait.’

She set Leia aside and, by the light of the protective barrier, purchased cooking utensils and ingredients from the System Mall.

With around 350,000 ordinary points, she had enough to live in the Abyss for many years.

’If a barrier shatters, I can just replace it.’

’Now, it’s a battle of patience with the beasts.’

’Li Chenlin and the others will definitely find a way to save me.’

Having calmed down, Bai Su quickly set up a cutting board and began to cook a meal for herself.

Leia stared at her, dumbfounded. "There are that many beasts surrounding us, and you’re still in the mood to cook?"

Bai Su replied, "I’ll eat and drink my fill, then figure out a plan at dawn."

She paid Leia no mind, simply making herself some lotus leaf chicken, sweet and sour pork ribs, and a chilled jellyfish salad, along with some fragrant rice.

When Leia smelled the incredible aroma, her stomach began to RUMBLE uncontrollably. "Let me have a taste."

Bai Su glanced at Leia, who was dead to the world. Last night, she had injected Leia with a heavy dose of sedative; she wouldn’t be waking up anytime soon.

Still, just in case, Bai Su redeemed another dose from the System Mall and administered it.

After finishing, she walked to the edge of the protective barrier.

A few bears that were close by instantly drew nearer, roaring and baring their teeth at her.

Bai Su placed her hand on the barrier and tried to push it through just a little.

Her palm had barely passed through the barrier when the closest bear lunged, snapping its jaws.

Bai Su quickly raised her hand, pressing it against the space between the bear’s eyes. A powerful surge of Healing Power erupted from her palm, instantly flooding into the bear’s body.

In an instant, the black smoke swirling around the large brown bear dissipated, and its crimson eyes returned to their normal black.

The large brown bear suddenly roared at the sky, its eyes filled with relief and excitement, like a prisoner finally set free after a long confinement.

It suddenly lowered its head and nuzzled its forehead against Bai Su’s palm. A moment later, it turned, shouldered aside the other beasts, and took off at a dead run.

A look of understanding flashed in Bai Su’s eyes. ’So that’s how it is.’

’After my Healing Ability leveled up, it gained a powerful purification effect. It can cleanse the beasts in the Abyss that have been corrupted by the Dark Power.’

’And my ordinary points in the System Mall have increased, too.’

’Previously, I earned ordinary points by infusing my Healing Ability into food and giving it to others to heal the bodies of other Beastmen.’

’I didn’t expect it to work on these beasts, too.’

’Actually, I had a vague feeling about this last night, but with Leia around, I didn’t want her to know too much.’

Bai Su released three Clones.

The four Bai Sus stood at the four cardinal points of the barrier, stretched their hands out past it, and unleashed a powerful torrent of Healing Power.

White light from the four points gradually converged into one massive orb of light, illuminating the entire Abyss.

All the beasts bathed in the light gradually regained their sanity.

The beasts let out joyous roars. Once their minds were clear, they all prostrated themselves on the ground in a show of gratitude toward Bai Su.

Had anyone been there to witness it, they would have discovered that this scene was nearly identical to the prophecy carved on the stone walls of the Qin Family’s secret chamber!
