"Won't that upset her?" Scarlett asked quickly.

He shook his head. "She won't mind."

Seeing she had no more to say, Damian went on, "I just want us to have time alone. With her around, I can't hold you or touch you freely."

As he spoke, he stole a quick kiss on the corner of her lips before straightening up at once. He knew if he kept going, things would escalate again.

After a moment, Scarlett looked up at him seriously. "Aren't we overindulging?"

Damian's eyes sparkled as he looked at her. "Not at all. I've got more than enough stamina."

Scarlett wriggled free from his embrace. She held up two fingers and said earnestly, "Medically speaking, it's better to keep it to twice a week."

Damian's expression fell. He grabbed her raised hand, sounding displeased. "That's way too little. Are you trying to drive me crazy?"

She met his gaze. "You managed perfectly well before we were together." Her voice faded to a murmur by the end.

Damian pulled her back into his arms and whispered against her ear. "That was before I had you. Once a man has tasted such sweetness, he can never go back to being alone."
