Vincent acted as though he hadn't even heard Xavier's comment. He lowered his head respectfully and said, "I'm asking you to support this, Grandpa."

Xavier looked at him helplessly for a long moment before finally waving him off with frustration. "Forget it. You're a grown man now. Do whatever you want."

Vincent immediately smiled. "Thanks, Grandpa."

After that, he turned and headed downstairs.

Sabrina had barely eaten anything during dinner. The moment she heard footsteps coming from the staircase, she instinctively looked up, and as soon as she saw Vincent coming down, the smile on her face became impossible to hide.

"Vincent."

She stood up automatically.

Vincent walked over and gently motioned for her to sit back down. "Hey, sit. Why're you standing up?"

Only then did Sabrina obediently sit again. Still worried, she lowered her voice and carefully asked, "Did Grandpa get upset with you?"

Vincent shook his head lightly. "No. Don't worry about it."

A guilty look crossed Sabrina's face. "I'm sorry for putting you in such a difficult position."

Vincent reached over and held her hand reassuringly. "Don't overthink it. Let's head home."

Before dinner was even over, Vincent left Stewart Manor with Sabrina and Vanessa.

That night, after wrapping up work in the study, Vincent called Scarlett twice, but each time the line went straight to busy.

He tried two more times with the same result.

Eventually, he sent her a text instead.

"Tomorrow at noon, we'll sign a new divorce papers. After that, we'll finalize everything at the courthouse."

After sending the message, Vincent deliberately waited for a reply, but Scarlett never responded, so he eventually put his phone aside.

Before leaving the study, he even removed his jacket because the smell of smoke clung too heavily to it, and he didn't want it bothering Sabrina.

When he pushed open the bedroom door, Sabrina had already showered and gotten into bed.

Vincent sat down beside her and asked softly, "Did you drink the warm milk Lily brought up?"

Sabrina nodded. "Yeah, I did."

Vincent brushed the loose strands of hair away from her face. "Then get some sleep."

Sabrina gazed at him quietly. "What about you? Aren't you sleeping yet?"

Vincent smiled gently. "I still have some work to finish. Give me a couple days, then I'll take some real time off and stay with you."

After saying that, he started to stand, but Sabrina suddenly grabbed onto his hand tightly.

"Vincent... can you stay with me tonight?"

He understood exactly what she meant.

For a brief moment, hesitation flickered across his face.

But in the end, he still gave in.

Vincent turned back around and slowly lay down beside her on the bed, leaving a little space between them instead of pulling close immediately.

The second he settled in, though, Sabrina moved against him on instinct, resting herself against his arm.

She ignored the message completely and never bothered replying.

Just as she was about to get out of bed, Damian's video call suddenly came through.

Without even thinking about it, Scarlett answered immediately.

The second the call connected, she realized Damian was already driving.

Before she could ask anything, Damian smiled first. "Why're you up so early? You should've slept in."

Scarlett looked at him carefully through the screen. "What about you? Where are you going this early?"

Just like the night before, Damian must've gotten home incredibly late.

And now it wasn't even eight yet, and he was already back out again.

That meant he'd probably only slept a few hours.

Hearing the concern in her voice, Damian grinned lazily. "Where else? Work."

Scarlett frowned slightly. "What time did you get home last night?"

Damian went quiet for a second before lifting a brow with amusement. "You worried about me?"

Scarlett pressed her lips together softly before saying in a quieter voice, "Don't push yourself so hard."

Damian appeared to be stopped at a light because his full attention stayed on her as he smiled.

"It's worth it."
