Against Cruelty, She Grew Strong (by Anastasia Glover) novel Chapter 673

Even In Darkness, She Chose to Rise

Chapter 673 Jasper Sets Off To Rescue Tammy

And she couldn’t just leave Tammy’s situation hanging.

She couldn’t trust anyone else to handle that side of things.

Only Jasper.

He was the sole person she had faith in.

“You promise?”

“I do. I promise.”

He gave her his word.

He also understood that Tammy meant the world to Tatiana—like a sister. Any harm coming to her would destroy Tatiana.

“Good. Then I’m trusting you with this.”

Jasper opened his mouth to offer some reassuring words.

But before he could speak, her gorgeous face suddenly moved closer.

By the time he registered what was happening, warmth spread across his lips.

Incredibly soft.

His eyes darkened. He abruptly tightened his grip on her waist, flipped their positions, and drove the kiss deeper.

“Mmph!”

He went too deep. She started losing ground.

Her knees buckled. She couldn’t stay upright without him holding her.

Eventually, she just looped her arms around his neck, shut her eyes, and let him take over, letting his scent soak into her.

When they finally broke apart, she rested against his chest, gasping for air.

Jasper fought down the overwhelming urge inside him. His voice came out rough, “Wait for me to get back. And remember—it’s only a fake marriage. Don’t let him touch you. I’ll be back before you know it.”

“Okay. I promise. I’ll wait for all of you to return.”

He couldn’t stop himself from brushing his lips against hers again. Only after forcing himself to let go did he pull back.

“I’m heading out now.”

Every second wasted added more danger.

Deal with it fast!

“I’ll walk you—”

“No. Stay here. Don’t go anywhere. We’ll keep in touch. While I’m away, you can reach Foster anytime. He’ll take care of whatever you need.”

Tatiana gave a small smile, “Don’t worry about me. I can handle myself now. You don’t need to stress.”

“I know. But I’ll still worry anyway.”

A wave of warmth washed over Tatiana. She hugged him once more.

This time, she didn’t linger. She let go quickly.

“I’m off.”

“Okay.”

Jasper turned and walked away.

Tatiana couldn’t hold back. She called out, “Jasper!”

He paused, “Yeah?”

“Tammy matters. But you matter more. I’m waiting for you to come back in one piece.”

Jasper hadn’t seen that coming.

Ever since they’d reconnected, Tatiana had kept her feelings guarded. She never said anything sweet. She was so self-sufficient that it seemed like she could walk away at any second.

Now someone was telling him she’d be his support.

And she really had the means to follow through.

That hit him way harder than any devotion that came from dependence.

He reached out and wrapped his arms around Tatiana.

Like he wanted to merge her into his very bones.

“Tatiana, you’re incredible.”

Tatiana’s smile faded slightly. A cold glint passed through her eyes. But her voice stayed syrupy sweet.

“Of course I am. You’d better treasure me.”

“I will.”

The wedding countdown was down to three days.

Tatiana didn’t want the media crawling all over it. Plus, the Langstrom family had their own image concerns and preferred to stay out of the spotlight. So she only invited a small group.

Liam told his father about it, but conveniently left out the part about them not having a marriage certificate yet. He only brought up the ceremony.

Jack reviewed the wedding flow and arrangements and showed his approval, “No issues. Handled properly. Not over-the-top, but not plain either. She’s definitely got skills.”

Liam smiled, “Tatiana arranged everything herself.”

“Your pick this time is decent.”

Jack didn’t hand out compliments often, especially about marriage.

But then Jack pivoted to another topic.

“Did she take care of it?”

Liam nodded, “Yeah. I’ll send her to Murica until she has the baby.”

So Liam had already told his father about Sherry being pregnant.
