After All the Hurt, She Chose Herself novel Chapter 355

Back then, when Sylvia was giving birth, Nathan had insisted on going. She had only asked a few questions, and he had flown into a rage and pushed her.

How could a woman seven months pregnant not be affected by a sudden shove?

But she had never even mentioned Sylvia's name. It was Nathan's own guilt that had made him lash out in anger.

All these years later, Nathan never spoke of why she went into premature labor, instead blaming her for causing a scene.

Roxanne sneered inwardly, but her expression remained docile and obedient.

"I was wrong back then, honey. Don't be angry. The doctor said you shouldn't get too emotional."

Nathan snorted coldly and let the matter drop.

Outside the room, Charles listened, his fists clenching.

He never knew that Roxanne was treated this way by Nathan when they were alone.

Charles wanted to burst in and confront Nathan, but he knew how much his sister cared about her pride, so he held back.

"Charles..." Flora gently took his arm, mustering the courage to speak. "There's something I need to tell you..."

Lilith had been her best friend. Now that she was gone, Flora didn't want her to become a tool for the Rowan family's financial gain.

She decided she had to tell Charles what she had overheard.

Why did Roxanne go to Ivy and Bradley first to expose Aria's identity, instead of talking to Charles?

Wasn't that too strange?

Charles was Roxanne's own brother. He had even given her fifty million dollars to help with her emergency.

How could Roxanne keep him in the dark about everything?

She was pregnant now. She would consider this a good deed, hoping Lilith's spirit would watch over her baby's birth.

Lilith had died without ever knowing she was actually pregnant...

"Charles, I just overheard Roxanne talking with Ivy and Bradley in the living room about Lilith's parentage..."

Gideon finished the bowl in a few large gulps.

He was silent for a moment before speaking. "Do you know why Raphael's condition suddenly worsened all those years ago?"

"Wasn't it because his illness was out of control?"

Raphael's dark eyes stared intently at Eveline.

Eveline froze, staring at Gideon in disbelief. "Was it... was it you?"

Gideon nodded. "When I was little, I accidentally went into the family's sterile lab and contaminated the medication Raphael needed."

"Contaminated how..."

"I accidentally knocked over the vial and spilled some. I was afraid Grandpa would scold me, so I... added some water to it."

Eveline practically gasped.

She had a good idea which medication he was talking about.
