After All the Hurt, She Chose Herself novel Chapter 347

Aria felt as though her head had just exploded.

Sylvia's own ID card?

It had been over a decade; her old ID had probably expired long ago. If it was still usable, it meant someone had been helping her get it reissued…

Or… she had reissued it herself.

Then why hadn't she appeared?

Mira blinked, not understanding what Raphael was talking about. But seeing Aria's face turn pale, she quickly reached out to steady her.

“Aria, is something wrong?”

Aria took a deep breath, forcing herself to calm down.

“It looks like I have no choice but to go to the funeral tomorrow.”

“Then I’ll go with you, Aria! This time, I won’t leave your side. I’ll make sure what happened last time never happens again!”

This whole affair was aimed at her. It didn’t seem right to drag Mira into it.

“I’ll go with her.”

Raphael sent a few messages.

“I’ve already told my grandfather that I will be attending Lilith’s funeral tomorrow.”

Mira’s mouth twitched. He was certainly quick, as if he was afraid she’d take his place.

“Mira, it’s getting late. You should stay here for the night.”

Aria didn’t object to Raphael’s statement. After opening the door, she looked at Mira.

“I have plenty of rooms. It’s late, so it’s better not to go back alone.”

Mira was about to nod when she felt an intensely pressuring gaze fixated on her.

The words she was about to say did a little pirouette on the tip of her tongue before she swallowed them back down.

“It’s okay, Aria. I have trouble sleeping in beds that aren't my own…”

However, when she remembered that Aria’s identity was now a mystery, and that Raphael was the brother of Aria's ex-husband, Mira felt a pang of sympathy and understanding for her friend.

The older generation was more conservative, and Aria was now a public figure. If she were to marry Raphael at a time like this, wouldn’t she just be courting controversy?

It was better to maintain their current relationship. After some time passed, or if there was a breakthrough in the research, the public outcry would be much less.

Mira patted Aria’s shoulder sympathetically.

“Aria, I really think being Dawn’s proxy is holding you back. You should apply to Dr. Reaves to join the trial!”

Her own abilities were no match for Aria’s, yet she had made it into the trial team. Was Aria being excluded just because she was Dawn's proxy?

Aria didn't know whether to laugh or cry. The topic had shifted so quickly that she couldn't keep up with Mira's train of thought.

“Being a proxy isn’t just about sending data back and forth. My job is to test the research procedures Dawn sends me, understand?”

Mira blinked. “First I’m hearing of it.”

“It can’t be helped. It’s not convenient for Dawn to make public appearances right now.”
