The old man’s face flushed red with anger. “Are you calling me disgusting?! You’re calling me disgusting?!”
He was up in years, but his voice was loud. As he yelled at Aria, her ears started to ring.
He seemed healthier than Aria and Raphael combined…
For a moment, Aria wasn't sure who the real victim was here.
“I can accept your demand for one million dollars.”
Aria still cautiously pulled Raphael behind her.
Raphael looked at the figure shielding him, and his Adam’s apple bobbed.
After his surgery all those years ago, he had forced his eyes open to see the very same silhouette.
She was tall and slender, a seemingly fragile figure, yet seeing her gave Raphael an inexplicable sense of security.
“What did you say? One million dollars? You can accept that?”
The old man was stunned. He dug a finger in his ear, unable to believe Aria would agree so easily.
Aria nodded. “Yes, I agree.”
The old man’s face instantly broke into a wide grin, his entire attitude shifting.
“For such a young lady to be so reasonable, you must be a great boss! My son isn’t married yet, you should be my daughter-in-law…”
Kelly, horrified, quickly cut the man off. “Sir, Ms. Rowan is already married!”
The old man’s face fell immediately. “Married so young? You didn’t sleep your way to the top, did you?”
A collective gasp went through the surrounding crowd.
Before, when they didn’t know who Aria was, they might have let such a comment slide. But now, who didn’t know she was married to Gideon?
This was like poking a sleeping bear.
Aria took out her phone and started recording.
“Fine, then don’t leave. You can make a scene here, and I’ll make a scene online. We’ll see who becomes more famous.”
The old man, furious, tried to snatch Aria’s phone. She stepped back, dodging him.
“Trying to rob me in broad daylight?”
Kelly, getting the hint, immediately took out her phone and aimed it at the old man.
“Everyone, look! This man is using his age to try and blackmail our company! He even tried to snatch Ms. Rowan’s phone! I can save all the evidence!”
Others in the crowd followed suit, pointing their phones at the old man.
The old man, instantly enraged, clutched his chest, breathing heavily as he collapsed back onto the floor.
“You! You people! You’ll be the death of me! I’m going to die right here!”
