Starla stepped out of her room and found Seymour and Romy deep in conversation. Their faces were grim. One look was enough to tell her that something had gone terribly wrong.
Her mind instantly flashed to her phone call with Tanya. Had their signal been intercepted?
Starla's heart skipped a beat. She walked over quickly. "What happened?"
Romy and Seymour exchanged a glance. Neither spoke immediately, but the tension in their eyes was noticeably heavier than before.
"Do we need to move again?" Starla asked, arching an eyebrow. In her mind, if they had been compromised, packing up was the only option.
"It's not about you," Romy finally said.
"Excuse me?" Not about her? Then who...?
"It's Amos Kunan. He's run into a serious situation."
"What kind of situation?" Starla's anxiety flared. Amos was tied directly to Fairfax's legacy.
In a split second, she put the pieces together. Herbert and Yardley were desperate to use her as leverage against General Licht. They were inevitably going to deploy every dirty tactic in the book to find her. They knew Amos's network was responsible for her disappearance.
Which meant they were putting the crosshairs directly on him.
"Are Herbert and the Hoggart family attacking the Cyrus Sea?" Starla asked, her voice turning cold.
"They're not attacking the territory directly. They're targeting Mr. Kunan personally," Romy explained.
The Cyrus Sea was a massive region. Even a joint strike from Herbert and Yardley would be a logistical nightmare. But sabotage? That was their specialty. They were squeezing Amos from all sides, and if this kept up, his entire operation would devolve into chaos.
"There's always been factions in the Cyrus Sea that were unhappy with his leadership. Now, with Mr. Farley and Mr. Hoggart stirring the pot, the rats hiding in the shadows are starting to get bold."
Starla looked at Romy.
"I just think your brother and Mr. Farley are absolutely repulsive," Romy added bluntly.
She was a straight shooter and spoke her mind. They all knew exactly why Herbert and Yardley were so desperate to find Starla. The sheer sleaziness of their motive was enough to make anyone sick.
"Amos is taking a massive loss because of me, isn't he?" Starla asked.
"The losses are significant, yes. But that's not your burden to carry," Romy replied.
It was the truth. There was nothing Starla could do about it from here. Unless she wanted to walk right back into Yoran Country.
"It's happening because of me, and you're telling me not to worry about it?" Starla pressed.

Hahaha This plot of story i hate about, choosing another girl instead of your own wife is something unreal, you didnt considered your wife feeling, you didnt even trust her and later on you will say sorry?? Was sorry will fixed everything you've done? Was sorry fixed her heart? it was unfair for your wife, you must choose your wife whatever it is. You know your wife well more than anyone else and the only person she should lean on was the person who pushes her away...
